Same team I assume as no changes to the 14 man squad. My local game too - well 40 minutes away - so I'm expecting a Maxwell long overdue masterclass.

It would be nice wouldn't it. At some point you feel it is coming. Perhaps if/when we get to the quarter final and don't mess it up like last year and other years, he will have a great finals day when all the shots come out and we can win it. I always feel, like Neil Carter did, that if you finish top of the group, you should go straight into finals day and the 2nd and 3rd teams in the 2 groups should then fight it out for the other 2 places. Nothing worse than seeing a side scrape into the quarters and get to finals day and win it.

I dunno, I enjoyed it quite a bit when we did it 😁

It wasn't as extreme as some, like when Hampshire lost half of their games in 2010 and ended up winning it. Especially as they had a runner in the final and all 3 batsmen ran at the same time causing confusion and the umpires let them get away with it and win. A bit like they did last year in another farce.

Is Maxwell available for finals day should we get there.
I know it’s not exactly uncommon in the past for overseas to play the groups then be unavailable for quarters and finals day.
Though might be different due to the new schedule and how close everything is together now.

Bearing in mind that Finals Day is only a week or so after the quarter finals and two weeks after the last Group match, I assume he is available. Australia will be still playing the Ashes series so it won't clash with any of their commitments.
But I could be wrong - maybe he has signed up for some other T20 tournament in Outer Mongolia or Azerbaijan.

To add to that he was picked by London Spirit in the Hundred, so my expectation would be that he'll stay in the UK from now until the end of that.

Although not sure his current form warrants a Hundred place...

Strong start.

Expect wickets now I've said that.

H Ali rested.

Benjamin continues to look horribly out of form. Only one run off the last over of the powerplay, atrocious

(Hoping this anti-jinxes him)

That's frustrating, Mousley was looking good.

A weird innings. Some big overs but quite a few with very few runs as well.

On a separate point, we need to get much better at leaving the ball when it’s wide. Could probably have had another 5 runs if we did, there were two in the last over alone that would have been wide if left.

We've fallen away massively at the end there, hopefully still have enough but that's a gettable total.

Yates really struggled at the end there. There were THREE balls that would've been wides had he left them.

Edit - just seen your post Exiled, I counted three wides.

You’re probably right, I was only half watching! Either way, it’s not great

Bowling well so far though.

Henry you are a lucky man, that was a wide but you got away with it. Perhaps our good fortune for having to listen to some very biased 'Home' commentary.

Phew! No more Brookes though please, the guy is a liability. Surprised Barnard wasn't given a go.

I always stick up for Henry Brookes, but I can't defend that. No way should that have got that close!

Time to stop using Henry Brookes at the death, I worry every time he comes on to bowl. Hasan tomorrow please
