275 looks a bit under par.
Barnard bowled a superb spell first up. OHD looking a little laboured today, perhaps down to fatigue. H Brookes produced some absolute filth and was expensive yet again. He surely doesn't get near our best XI. Thankfully Rhodes took the last over himself and bowled nicely.
Smith was very tidy keeping and two smart run outs.

Just another 50 overs of commentator Clive Eakin's irritating sharp intakes of breath left to suffer!

I've not watched any of today, but looking at the scorecard they were 200-6 after 42.5 overs, and finished on 275 - how did that happen?

They certainly had three big double figure overs off Lintott, OHD and H Brookes.

I thought Sussex batted really well at the death. Its an incredibly fast, high, scoring ground with a particularly fast outfield. H Brookes will come in for criticism, naturally, but OHD was going at atleast 12's at the death. He's entitled to an off day though. It happens.

I think overall we were pretty decent, the bowling figures don't necessarily tell the while story here. Ibrahim played a very intelligent innings and Foreman was bright. The opposition are allowed to play well. 275 is probably par. Should win, a couple of our batters probably need a score so it's a good opportunity.

Started our innings well from a look of the scorecard. It's actually an important innings. Play well and win that's our momentum going into the knockouts, go badly it could be the beginning of a slide. Going tired into the eliminator game sounds grim.

Frustrating, Yates was looking good and just felt he needed a score. Terrific delivery to get him though.

Davies will be the subject of more discussion after making just 2 off 5 balls.

Tayls79 has some explaining to do - post #25 and the wheels are coming off !!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously this is going to need a big partnership from somewhere to pull off a win now

It was a very poor shot, again!

It seems that he doesn't learn from his previous poor dismissals

I presume we will finish top even if we lose?

Sorry about that. Though that was a neutral post! Indeed, someone is going to have to play well and stick with Barnard here. This is exactly what I meant by momentum going the other way...

I know our stream isn’t the best around but it’s streets ahead of this one. Can barely see the ball from one end.

We are already guaranteed to be ahead of Worcestershire, and it must be very close if not already happened, that it's become impossible for Gloucestershire to overtake our NRR.

So in short, yes we will finish top regardless.

Some brainless cricket here. We need less than a run a ball so why are we trying to hit every ball out of the ground?

Fair play to Briggs, calm head when others were seriously losing theirs.

I was just going to post the same - did our best to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. At the end Briggs had no choice but to go for the boundaries but Lintott and Smith very nearly blew it all away. Bring on the Semi now

I'd like to take the time to remind everyone again that some people wanted Ed Barnard dropped 3 weeks ago...

So we will be playing the winner of Hampshire vs Worcestershire.

Would love a Bears vs Pears semifinal.

Yes, I was at Bristol to see Gloucestershire romp home. Ben Wells in particular batted brilliantly; but Durham were very poor. They looked as if they were mentally driving back home up the M5 long before the end.
