Warwickshire are mentioned in this article about where Bashir may go - " While no approach has yet been made, Surrey - where Bashir played his age-group cricket - could be a potential suitor, as could Warwickshire and Worcestershire."
Personally, I think it's unlikely; but who knows?

I watched the Zimbabwe Test on TV and, for the first time, thought I could see what Stokes and Co see in him. His variation of flight was good and, when he put some action on the ball, it turned sharply.
The problem is that he's raw. Control is lacking so his wickets have tended to be expensive. He's still got a lot to learn and doing that at Test level isn't ideal. So he's in a bit of a bind - any county that takes him on will know that he'll leak runs in limited overs and be whisked off by England at the drop of a hat. Not a great proposition right now.

I'm conflicted on this one. He has some attributes and his availability might actually be ok as he won't be part of the white ball sides or the Blundred. But his record in the county championship is pretty poor, not a noted fielder or batter, so I just don't know. Would imagine we'd be producing turning wickets if we signed him.

I would expected him to go to Surrey based on their lack of frontline spinner (which could potentially cost them the title this season).

And I wouldn't be overly disappointed if we missed out on him as I think we should be investing our time and money into Taz Ali.

Apparently Surrey aren't interested. There's not many first division counties looking for a front line spinner but I'm open to him joining and developing with us. Jeetan Patel is his mentor and will probably recommend a move to Edgbaston.

If we take him its near-guaranteed he will suddenly be a must-have accessory for the england white ball setup and if he is lucky enough, they can get him studying Woakes's drinks-carrying techniques for a couple of years. we'll never see him
