Not great this. Interesting that 8 of the starting line up played in the last Championship game so hardly a weakened side.

i obviously put the mockers on when i looked at the team sheet and thought what a strong team it looked to be

Meanwhile, up at Durham, some bloke called Will Rhodes scored 96. Oh and then he went and took 5-30.

Did my morning walk across Scarborough's South Beach before excitedly walking up North Marine Road getting in the ground just before 11am...so to see us one hour later 38-7 was somewhat confronting...

Trafalgar Square End was definitely the end to bowl from today, there was a patch just on a length where some balls stuck in the pitch, some were almost rearing up, some were shooting though, think 5 out of the first 6 dismissals were from that end. Interesting that Kai was considered to be unlucky by 1 poster on here as he was the one batter who I looked at throughout his brief innings and dismissal and found myself wondering "Why such hard hands?" especially after seeing how the others before him went.

Fair play to Vaansh Jani, rode his luck a little bit early on, was dropped on 2, I'd never deny a lad a bit of luck on his List A debut though especially when walking out to such a dire set of circumstances. His timing looked crisp and his power hitting was a welcome surprise.

Thought we competed well with the ball (welcome back Michael Booth) and in the field but let's face it the damage was done after the first hour.

I still had a nice time. Sun, sea and cricket in front of a large, knowledgeable and enthusiastic crowd at brilliant place to watch cricket.

Unrelated but did anyone see the decision Josh de Caires got in the Middlesex Somerset game? Good grief.
