Have to say Young is looking like the player we have been missing for years.

Such a sensible innings. We’ve not had an anchor like this since Trott and Moles.

Would be great next season!

Didn't pick up on any dissent? Could be wrong. I mean either way it was clearly an absolute seed, right?

He wasn't happy. Yes it was a beaut of a ball but that doesn't mean he actually hit it. I might be wrong but shaking your head all the way off the pitch is not usually because the ball was that good that you think you have been unlucky.

Well we've already signed Beau Webster until the end of July next year, would you take Young over signing Booth for next season in the CC?

Yeah maybe, I just said it was a good ball, nicked off or not.

Interesting. NZ have a 3 Test series against England starting in early June next year, would imagine numerous NZ batters will be looking for county deals in order to play their way into form.

Does Michael Booth not qualify as a local player next season?

Young may as well have a go now and see if we can knock off this deficit

He does, strange that a British citizen and passport holder doesn't qualify as a domestic player, but other counties are using non UK passport holders as UK qualified players

Let's hope so! I think a bowling attack of Booth, Bamber & Gilchrist looks tasty, backed up with OHD, Barnard & Webster too seems our best seam attack for some while. We just need a quality spinner added to our squad, unless we give Taz Ali a run in the side.

Is is just me or did that look like it hit the floor before Foakes' glove?

As painful as it is to say it, that was a wonderful catch by Ben Foakes. I remember when we had a wicket keeper that good.

To further the above I tried to pause the live stream at the point the ball got to Foakes and it definitely looks like it hit the floor.

The catches the keeper makes when he or she dives across first slip otherwise it won't carry to first slip are my favourite. Just brilliant.

Like that one by Foakes just then.

And Alex Davies v Hampshire back in May to dismiss Tom Prest!!!

And after all that waffle from him, Warwickshire have a first innings lead!

Gilchrist moves his feet only to back away but he seems to time it quite well to be fair to him, couple of decent drives.

Nice to see England's Pope and Atkinson getting much needed practice. Pity the useless ECB can't let Jacob Bethell play a bit more often for his County team! Even Jacob said as much in a recent interview. This is a continual pattern with Bears players which affects our chances in white ball and red ball cricket.
