i found it funny at the time and it just gets more amusing in hindsight that Josh Hull has a test cap for England. It was in that box-ticking, 'we need pace/height' phase of the selection cycle and he put even more wind up their proverbial skirts because he had the added bonus of being a left armer and he was young and they were in that period where they thought blooding people after like 7 county games was the way forward. Their spreadsheets must have been awash with red ink and !!!!!!!!'s.

Unfortunately being a bit crap will undermine any of those ticked boxes and it turns out not only is he not an international seamer, but he isn't even the 2nd best seamer at a mediocre county team.

I see it is as a perfect metaphor for the England setup at that time
