Malik out for a decent 34, but the lbw looked to be going down leg side? Bamber now gone for a duck. Now 227 all out!.....very disappointing having been 161/2

That all ended very quickly...
Anyone would think that tail came from “the dark ages”.
Worcestershire having no problem at 49/0 after 11 overs......Rushworth looks a bit ordinary on his return.

Yep, definitely a throwback.
Woakes and Barnard have been unlucky.
Considering Woakes was at 9, we had a lot of batting strength, going 160 odd for 2 to 227 all out is pretty poor.
Yates’ form is starting to become a bit of a concern.
So we had someone in our side who is batting number 9 and has a Test century and we could only get to 229. Then with that start for the home team, we could be well behind the game if they bat all day tomorrow. Come on Bears, it's only bloody Worcestershire for heaven's sake.
Yates hurt his hand on the first morning v Hampshire taking a catch, needed immediate treatment and wore heavy bandaging rest of the game. 3 single figure scores since and not fielding the slips this afternoon, wonder if its affecting him...I'm not overly concerned with the form of our 2nd top run scorer at the moment though.
3 or 4 wickets minimum required in the 1st session tomorrow.
I think Westwood isn't helping matters by chopping and changing the team. We've used 18 players already this season, and only four (Davies, Yates, Barnard & Bamber) have played every game. We've started to become inconsistent, and that's not good.
I don't think it was a good idea to play Woakes and Rushworth in the same match. Selecting one of them maybe, but not both. Where is OHD?
I take it back - play Woakes & Rushworth together in every match!
They have certainly put us back in game, hopefully we can bowl them out for under 200 and take a lead going into the second innings.
I do think there are good reasons for playing so many players. It removes the oft quoted criticism that out of form players keep getting picked. Another good reason is that when a player is out of form or injured his replacement is more likely able to step up and perform.
.
Good morning so far with some good takes behind the wicket
Can we please stop dropping catches!
Fair play to Rushworth, he has bowled superbly this morning - Woakes too. Shame about the dropped catches before lunch but at the moment we are in a good position - need to keep it going this afternoon.
Yes good session for us, as someone (me! Haha) pointed out yesterday wickets will fall in clusters on this pitch. Its not a minefield but it is 2 paced so anybody who can consistently hold a length and line, like the the Chris's, should benefit from the natural variation on offer. Worcestershire's attack does possess a similar collective skillset though. Definitely a difficult pitch to get set on. Gotta keep the pressure. Feel like there's a bit more swing about today than yesterday.
6-4-3-3 Rushworth this morning I think
Good to see Yates and Latham digging in and trying to 'Build' a decent lead rather than smash their way to it. It doesn't matter how many we score until the close as long as we keep wickets in hand.
Frustrating day to watch.
Overall they didn't lose that much play but although tomorrow looks alright, Monday looks awful. Pity, we have done really well to get ourselves ahead in this game.
We bowled very well.
We then batted very slowly. Presumably it’s not easy. The bad light was no such thing in my opinion. It was actually lighter than when they started after tea.
So we need to push on in the morning now or we are going to regret this one!
