Of course sir. Sorry!
Of course sir. Sorry!
Competitive total in the end down due Garton, Bernard & a couple of big shots from Hassan.
If we can get their top 3 out without too much damage being done we should be fine but we had to rely on some late order big shots to get us there because we threw our first 6 wickets away.
I am also happy to post when we do well, that is the ups and downs of a match but the general unhappiness stems from us underperforming in all formats with the exception of the CC win in 2021.
We should expect better, what is the point otherwise?
Once again I’m thankful Yorkshire are rubbish.
Had no right to get above 200, but they bowled really poorly, after they’d gotten so many of our top order cheaply.
Great work by Barnard, Hassan and Garton.
Lyth is plum there, hitting middle and leg without any movement but the umpire is lookng too hard at it thinking it is moving down leg side. Poor decision.
So whenever we do well it’s just because the opposition are rubbish?

Agreed, I thought that looked good. Hassan should have been on a third hattrick in three games!
Awful decision to give Briggs last ball as a wide as well. He stepped right across his stumps! Cost us 7 runs.
An excellent win.
An excellent win.
Good win in the end and we bowled well, they have a capable top 3 but after that not much at all.
3 wins from 4 and hopefully we can carry this momentum forward. Northants are a decent unit on good form and look as though they will win the group but we really should step up and secure a place from the remaining games.
Anyone who finishes below Yorkshire need shooting at Dawn!!
Great recovery from another poor start. Much needed victory, more of the same (ish) tomorrow please.
Thank goodness we have Ed Barnard in this squad, not sure where we would be without him, a fine county cricketer. Nothing else to say really………………..
Except replace the captain, strangely, I think he would agree with me. Might help his career as well.
That is some of the best bowling I have seen in the last 6-7 overs of a T20 game to close out a win. They got 52 from the last 7 overs whereas we got 76 from our last 5. It looks as though they fold as soon as Malan goes or cannot win if he isn't seeing Yorkshire home.

They're missing Bairstow obviously but think the natives will be getting restless as they're poor in both competitions this season.
What a bizarre innings by Yorkshire. 32 runs short but only 5 wickets down.
They were ahead of us in the powerplay and at the halfway stage for both runs and wickets.
Malan gets out and it was like the brakes slammed on.
Thought we bowled well second half, but they made us look very good with bat and ball in the last 5 overs of both innings.
Similar performance to Northants, the difference in outcome primarily down to the quality of the opposition.

Maybe we were very good in the last five overs of both innings - just saying!
Northants finally lost, chasing a small total and last season winners have lost 4 from 4 but I am not going to say what I thought of them last year.

In fairness, the sides we’ve beaten are all in the bottom 3. And I’d say apart from the first game, our performances have stayed pretty consistent, we saw against Northants the difference between the top and bottom of the table.
I suspect we’ll end up somewhere from 3rd to 6th depending on form and injuries. Not the best, not the worst, in a tight battle in the middle.
I do not think this win was down to poor opposition. Excellent batting by our tailenders created a decent score to defend. The bowling in the main was excellent with what looked like good fielding (dropped catches excepted!). Being one of Moeen's critics I will say his bowling was probably the turning point in the game. His first 2 overs slowed the batsmen down and they never really recovered.
It was such a good win Gerry said it twice!!!!!!!

We were good. But they made us look a lot better. I wasn’t sitting there thinking this is masterful death bowling. Or that we were amazing because we were getting away repeated Yorkers.
They really dug that one out but fair play to the lower order. We are not yet firing with a number of players seemingly fighting for form. Anybody know when we are going to see Gleeson, he could make a huge difference in this side.
