Malik and Rushworth in for Bethell and Simmons.
We have elected to bat.
Looks like good number of spectators at the ground.
Bamber at 7 and it looks very weak on that front. I would put Roccchi at 7, he didn't look too bad last game. At least, it seems we have made a move that reflects us trying to bowl Sussex out but hope the long tail won't be something we regret.
Malik at 10 may be a bit high :-)
Likely to be Malik at 6 followed by Kai, Cory Ethan, OHD and Rushworth
Barnard 6, Kai 7, Bamber 8 isn't it?
Having the rare pleasure of watching this on the stream. Good start in terms of numbers. I haven't watched a lot of these bat this season so far but they do look quite skittish. Do they tend to settle down?

Yet another abysmal dismissal from Davies. a totally inappropriate shot for the match situation.
I ask, again, how can you expect other mebers of the team play sensibly, when their captain repeatedly is out to poor dismissals?

For once I have to agree with Highveld, Davies continually plays like it's a one day game.
I think I need to sit in a cool darkened room to recover, from the bad shot or EB agreeing with me I wont say :-)
I thought we would go with Malik & Rushworth over Mousley & Simmons today - disappointed for Che though as he has been under-used so far this season. Surely Malik will bat ahead of Smith & Bamber? He has batted at 5 & 7 in his previous games.
I got confused earlier with Taz and Zen which at least stopped my "What Bamber at 7..." panic that I had this morning. A good start though so far.
Good disciplined innings from Yates so far.
He has been beaten a couple of times by good balls but has not done anything silly to give his wicket away, unlike Davies again.
I type this just as Latham's innings comes to an end, he just looked a bit out of sorts today.
I spoke too soon...........
We have gone from 174-1 to 190-4
RR was up at 4.5 ish now plummeting to 3.5 ish
Once again we have allowed the opposition to dictate the pace and tempo of the game
In fairness we have lost two quick wickets and have two new batsmen at the crease. I would expect the run rate to drop considerably while they, hopefully, get settled in to build a big partnership.
Not sure how to reconcile the fact both openers were caught in the deep with the fact they collectively seem very short on confidence.
I give Yates more of an allowance than Davies. Davies clearly had no time to think there but says something about his mindset he instinctively went for that shot. Malik never looked set, neither did Latham but credit to Sussex they have been relentless and have kept adapting. Something I hear we didn't in the last game.

At 340-4 it looked as though we could get up to around 500, but losing those three late wickets has changed it completely, we'll be lucky to get 420. It looks like being a good day for batting tomorrow, so our last remaining batsmen need to hang around as long as possible.
Yep, I think that was a crucial last session. If they get three early wickets, they could bat for 5 and a bit sessions and we'd be batting to save the game again.
