I know Andy I meant to use my previous post re Latham. Anyway why don't we open with Mousley and Hain because they are effectively openers in the Blast.

There is either something in this pitch for the bowlers or we have given wickets away.............what on earth are Miles & Garton doing between them there?
Ridiculous batting in the last 3/4 overs. Just not good enough at all
Garton has now run two partners out in two games
We have been reckless throughout this competition with the bat. Sometimes it has worked out, albeit slightly lucky.
Tonight, we got away with a few lucky boundaries early on but it has evened itself out. Some ridiculous batting/running going on.
Hopefully there is something in this pitch for our bowlers
Unfortunately Hain was out at the start of the 16th Over just when we usually put on a spurt. Problem was we had not got an established batsman to move it on. Thank goodness Garton got a decent score but I suspect we are well short. I just hope i am wrong - wickets needed.
I don't think loads short but definitely could have got more. I don't watch that much any more but was only really Hain and Barnard that looked at ease, everyone else was jittery, which I think was exactly the same comment I made on the CC game at Sussex.
21 dot balls in the first 5 overs of the power play
Clinic from Briggs this.
Bairstow 116 from 54 balls & Luxton currently 80 off 41 for Yorkies vs Lancs
Hose will pull this off if we dont get him soon, he has his eye in
Three dodgy run out calls now by my reckoning!
Well, that was an exciting game.
Good win but I agree with other posters that we left 10-15 runs out there tonight making the game closer than it needed to be.
There was indeed something in the pitch for the bowlers.
Never in doubt haha we're peaking at the right time for once.
Bowling was really tight tonight - just a shame their batsmen failed to get an edge given the number of times they played and missed! I too thougt the run outs would have been interesting in slow-mo although in fairness not one batsman looked surprised at being given out. After all the stick Garton has taken on this site I thought he had a pretty good game with both bat and ball.
The bowling was really good especially the early stuff in the powerplay, to push the scoring rate up to 10+ so early in the game was crucial. A few tight games going on at the moment so it will be an interesting table to look at in half an hour.
Notts have just beaten Durham - that puts them 4 points behind us with two games to play. On the other hand it keeps us on the same points as Durham, although they have a game in hand.
Northants win as well, puts them level on points with us. Tasty game coming up on Sunday!
At the moment Durham, Lancs, ourselves & Northants have 28 points, Leics & Notts have 24. Lancs currently look as though they will lose to Yorks.
Durham, Lancs & Leics have 3 games to play, ourselves, Northants & Notts have 2.
To play::
Durham: Lancs A, Leics H, Northants H
Lancs: Durham H, Yorks A, Notts A
Bears: Northants H, Derbys A
Northants: Bears A, Durham A
Leics: Worcs A, Durham A, Yorks H
Notts: Worcs A, Lancs H
Interesting to see who's got who to play. Looks like we have the easiest run in and with Lancs losing RR against Yorks looks like a real possibility of second. Second or third means Surrey or Hampshire in the quarters... Not sure what to make of that!
Good to see Garton picking up POTM. Two good back to back performances. He seems to be a confidence player so hopefully this run can continue. Mentioned a potential interest in red ball in the Sussex game radio interview, definitely something to consider.....

indeed, his match-winning/changing 'cameos' with the bat are starting to become something of a regular occurrence, i think that is now 4 times this season he has really played an impactful innings at the end. it was really affecting our flexibility/options when one of our seamers was only bowling 1 over, albeit at least a couple of times he bowled really good opening overs only to not get another nod from Davies, so having him bowl 2-3 good ones changes the dynamic significantly.
i like the fact that Mousley in particular is playing more aggressively. when he first came into the team at 5/6 his SR was excellent but since we played him at 3 it really seemed to regress and he seemed to be caught between two stools, trying to play long innings but often getting stuck at the crease and chewing up deliveries that Hain could have faced and consistently going at around SR130 over quite a few deliveries.
