A very strange announcement overnight that todays WCL India v Pakistan game is off, and for spectators not to go to the stadium as it will be closed.

No explanation for the cancellation was provided.

I wonder why the game was called off, Have WCL failed to pay the stadium hire fee etc? Was there an expectation of serious crowd disorder and violence?

Will the rest of this private tournament take place?

Apparently it is to do with the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which caused the Indian team to withdraw in protest.

Hopefully the WCL promotors will ensure that Warwickshire/Edgbaston suffer no financial loss as these are circumstances totally beyond the control of the club.
