No Hain in the squad. Big Beau is back. Corey and Taz included.

Is it still the kookaburra?

I think we may have to bowl first to get a result!

Why no Bethall ? Surely he needs some cricket

Nothing from club again ,not even a mention about match tommorrow on website .
No explanation why Bethall isn’t playing ,no Hain or any other news on player availability.
Is Latham unavailable and where is Simmons ?
Strange .
Surely Garton could be made available for selection .

Yep it's shocking. If they really wanted to increase attendances they'd be advertising this game all over the Internet with the kids off school.

Fairly clear they have no interest in promoting the county championship

It’s a very different club now thanks to Povey, Gascoigne, Leavesley, Snowball et al.

Membership privileges for the test match all but eroded. Tom Dollery Suite part of the general facilities rather than a members’ lounge.

Unfortunately it’s pretty clear from Stuart Cain that members and county championship are an inconvenience they’d rather reduce if they can.

CEO not even trying to pretend they are performing the function of Club Secretary now - Ryder, Deakins, Heath, Amiss.

Edgbaston is branded differently even though technically they are all employees of WCCC.

The Hundred is talked up on linked in etc in terms of appointments. As is Edgbaston. But never Warwickshire CCC.

Decisions on future of domestic cricket taken for what the unaccountable consider best for Edgbaston rather than Warwickshire and its members.

Unfortunately if they can get away with it then it’s only a matter of time until Edgbaston and Warwickshire CCC will be formally separated!

So between Miles and Taz for the final spot? I was looking for Sheikh to get a game to capitalise on his Eng u19s form.

Latham was always going ro miss this because of NZ tesrs in Zim. Reading from this I don't think Bethell will play red ball this season now, probably just plays 100 and Blast, maybe metro bank, to get ready for England white ball in September. I presume Hain is injured but one does worry now.

Two batsmen missing leaves a huge hole. Not sure the bowling is that weak but definitely lacks a bit of a change up.

The lack of communication from the club is pathetic. No updates on player availability or even a preview piece these days. The coverage is sparse.
I would like to know why we aren't selecting Simmons and investing in him rather than sticking Miles in there. One is potentially the future while the other is a 30 year old with his foot out of the door.

Bethell situation is crazy to me, since that Test series in NZ he's barely played any cricket.

Totally agree and perhaps it explains why when he's parachuted into any of our Blast games he looks so undercooked.

From the squad anounced yesterday I would in clude Kai Smith, to keep and Dan Mouseley in the side, as well as Webster for Latham.

I am not surprised. Where was it advertised? Wondering through Facebook I keep seeing adverts for the Hundread but nothing from Warwickshire County Cricket Club , or Edgbaston as it prefers to be called, for anything. It is as if the club along with the ECB are doing everything they can to justify relegating real cricket to history.

Whilst I agree the club and ECB are if anything almost deliberately underselling the 4 day game, and quite probably for the reasons given, I think the expectations of people regarding kids turning up to a days County cricket are rather unrealistic, myself. There seems to be a perception we'd be teeming with thousands if only there was a marketing campaign. Personally I think there is a lot of living in the past, here.

Surrey had 15000 one match and are regularly getting above 10000 ,crowds are up on most counties but we seem to struggle xx

Tremendous from Barnard on the run out, had to be a direct hit. What a cricketer.

Shaikh playing for the 'Professional County Club Select XI' today, against Pakistan Shaheens (the Pakistan A team), so obviously still in National Selectors minds.

Oh dear, you can’t be dropping those as a keeper.
