Very poor start, been 2-2 with both Burle and Lintott playing very poor shots. Now 36-3 with Jani also failing to make a significant score.

Playing for Middlesex seconds isn't quite the future that was once predicted for Henry Brookes. As for Manraj Johal, I was disappointed that he didn't really progress after a good start - another failure for the Bears' bowling coaches. So I hope that he makes it at Middlesex or elsewhere.

Think Brookes is coming back from being injured for while? Could be wrong.

Brookes went off injured in a second eleven game a couple of weeks ago but he is not making the first team on form anyway.
A good ton from Gekis got us up to a decent score in the end.

Yes think it's important to remember that for every Ethan Brookes I'd say there's more we've released who aren't up to much at their new counties. Johal, Garrett, H Brookes to name just some.

Feel like Garrett did pretty well last season on some flat pitches in a poor side. Injuries this year though.

We won by 97 runs, mainly thanks to 6 for 53 (off 16 overs) from the Captain. Jake L has had a good couple of weeks for the Seconds and also made a bit of a comeback for the First team in the Blast. Perhaps we shouldn't write him off yet.

Thilan Walallawita also had another run out for us (against his old club) and his 7 overs, 2 for 28 of left arm spin, helped Lintott bowl out Middlesex for 203. I hope he get some more chances.

With Taz only bowling 2 overs against Worcester, one would think at the reliably spinning Essex, Lintott may be brought in, but he has been snubbed so many times does he still want to?
