There's been a mistake, these averages include people's highest scores.
Not forgetting the number of times they score Zero :-)
They are a "RAW" average, it would take some time to calculate the "moderated" average.

Who is Jani? Must have completely missed this as I have absolutely no idea who he is.
Won toss and elected to bowl.
So we've packed the batting. No Harmer for them is good news.
Initial thoughts when seeing the team were I was disappointed that Taz Ali has been dropped, as it's historically been a ground that takes spin.
But having seen the wicket it looks very green!
My main take, looking at the averages, was what a poor season OH-D is having. Are his PCA duties taking their toll or is age (36 now) creeping up on him - or, hopefully, is this just a blip?
Watched overs 6-11 just now, Bamber and OHD bowling. Bamber has just about got a fractional amount out of the ball early but not much, looks fine for batting on. I'm presuming this is a Kook game? Worth noticing just after I started watching the ball stopped moving. Combined with what I saw on two new balls in the Worcester game I think you get about 6-10 overs where you can get something out of it, after that it's dead. The point Andy made in the previous game is true here as well, it's not very threatening without that extra bit of pace. It reminds me of Chris Woakes just before he became a successful test bowler with a little more pace, Mike Atherton had described him as "just a bit friendly". OHD is too old for this now but Bamber might get some rewards for one more yard of pace in the years to come.
I have been watching for the last half hour or so and the Essex batsmen have hardly had any worries at all. Nothing has beaten the bat and we are not quick enough to trouble them bowling straight. Nice green pitch that we have got nothing out of.
As I type, Rochi has been brought on to bowl within the 1st hour which tells you everything.
I remember many years ago some test captain 9can't remember name) saying if you win the toss and it looks like a good track to bowl on think about doing just that and then bat first!! This looks like one of those moments unless Davies is looking ahead to day 4 !
OHD is not having a vintage season so far, I’m not sure what his stats were last year when using the kookaburra ball. Hopefully when the Dukes comes back he’ll be back in the wickets!
Good call to bowl first skipper. OHD is sadly on the decline and is no longer a wicket taking threat. He does a good job keeping it tight and certainly has a big role to play for us in the One Day Cup.
Today is the fifth time in the Championship this season that Davies has won the toss. In the previous four games, he has chosen to field twice and to bat twice. He is currently unbeaten when winning the toss, with one win (Yorkshire) and three draws, so let's hope he can keep his unbeaten run going in this match, although at the moment fielding first is not looking such a good call!
Be interesting to read Highveld's take on the first day especially from 10.30am!!!!
I think if the Kook games have taught us anything, it's watch the very first bit and see if there is anything in the pitch and conditions for the bowlers, around 30-60 mins, and if nothing then give up watching for three days. Then see how two big scores against each other pan out on the final afternoon. Think this will be one of those cases. I'm not against it though painful to watch your team bowl with little chance of a wicket watching runs rack up for hours...
Probably the wrong decision after winning the toss, the bowlers have tried hard, but some of the bowling and fielding changes were reactive rather than working from a prepared plan and being proactive.
It is not unknown for opening batsman captains, especially when in poor form, to elect to field first to avoid facing difficult bowlers in overcast conditions. I really hope that wasn't the case today.
Good honest performance on day one ,Webster pick of bowlers .
