The clubs website has gone steadily down hill this season .
Does anyone else agree ?
Not much content on upcoming county games and second X1 cricket has been completely forgotten .
Pen pics of players are out of date .
Although reports on first team games are ok it still lacks a bit of content .
All the good things the club are doing commercially I think they are missing a trick here .
Email to club to be sent ,hopefully with good results .

Very true. Amazingly, the club didn't even post a preview of the Somerset game today. No squad news, no publicity, nothing! Ah, just remembered, it was a County Championship game - I think they consider that something like a Second team Friendly!

you are, of course, all aware that the club is currently recruiting for a new head of the media deartment, so they are, possibly, inderstaffed and falling behind with the current workload.

Hopefully whoever is appointed is selected for their ability and experience in a sports media role and not for DEI reasons.

The media output from the club has been absolutely dreadful for a few years now. They only seem interested in social media "bantz" these days.
We want decent previews and engaging content, not inane post match interviews and half hearted quotes. Many counties are offering so much more.
Brian Halford was excellent when he was at the club and his podcast is a great listen. The personnel in more recent times have gone through the motions.

Well said. Couldn't agree more. I think some of the media output has been childish.

The club is still recruiting a new "media manager", however the job description was prioritising the unwanted competition and political correctness, when what is needed is an experienced sports Journo.
Sadly since Tom Rawlins moved on the media output has been behind that of other counties. Have a looka t our neighbours for an example of good media output.

The last bloke, Someone Ford, was totally useless. Anyone would be an improvement on the poor quality or non existent content served up over the past 2 or 3 years.

You only have to look at other counties, Kent for example, on how to do a proper preview. It is comprehensive and has detailed availability/injury news: https://www.kentcricket.co.uk/news/match-preview-kent-vs-leicestershire/

We still don't know what happened to Moeen Ali. It has never been mentioned by the club!

Chief Executive says:

" Short term, respected journalist Brian Halford will step in to cover remaining County Championship and One Day Cup games, starting with the Essex review.
Long term, we’ve recruited an experienced sports Head of Media. He’s from Warwickshire, has good sporting instinct, journalistic knowledge, and a passion for red and white ball cricket with great ideas about how we produce timely, informative news for Members on cricket at every level of the Club. I’m excited about the fresh focus he will bring when he joins in October."

Brian is a safe pair of hands; and we await the announcement of the identity of the permanent replacement.

We know that it's a "he" which narrows the field down.

I have to say that was a good email from Stuart.

Someone reads this forum because all the Birmingham references were replaced by benefitting the county in terms of the knight head criteria.

So credit where it’s due. I thought it was much better!

There does seem to be a bit more of an effort from the Club to listen to supporters. Those who get the weekly Club update email will know that it says:
"Here at Warwickshire, we're looking to improve our communication with our Newsletter subscribers. Whether you're a Member or someone who just likes to keep up with all things Warwickshire, we want to make these weekly updates as enjoyable as possible.

This is all well and good but as someone that used to get emails (former member and frequent ticket buyer) shouldn’t this email also have gone to me? I used to get roughly weekly emails from the club, even after I stopped being a member, but I don’t think I’ve had anything for a couple of years now.

Yes I agree - it's not meant just for members but I don't quite know how you get added to the list or why you would disappear. I'll ask the question!
