Just in case anyone is looking to venture up to Liverpool and pay on the gate - no joy, I'm afraid:

I believe the capacity is 3,000 so that's not an enormous crowd but good that Lancs have sold out in advance.

Table looking a bit tight going into this key match:

I'm heading up tomorrow, my first visit to Aigburth. No temporary stand apparently which is a shame.

My only visit to Aigburth was when Rikki Clarke held seven catches in an innings and nine in the match - a record at the time.
The strange thing was, I didn't realise what had been happening right in front of me until I saw the scorecard in the paper!

Apparently there are now more tickets available:

Just watching the first few overs and the outfield looks awful.

Bamber back in for OHD.
Lancs won the toss and chose to bat.

The way Lancs are going (after losing an early wicket) - and the reliability of our opening 4/5, I think we're going to need a long batting lineup!

you spoke too soon, super Taz Ali (among others) did his thing. 3-39 off his 10, I get more giddy and fangirlish over Ali the more I see. And he's ripped out top order batsmen, too. I'll be checking the stream out with bated breath later just to watch his overs and plotz out.

RE our batting top 5: a tiny, wee bit unfair. Barnard and Yates are fundamentally sound and Barnie is due a good score in this comp, I think 50ovs is Yates's 'sweet spot', certainly in white ball cricket. I also feel Malik and Jani have shown indications they have the makings to make it at this level, Jani especially with the Scarborough innings. And Hamza showed decent ability and cricket brain last Sunday

give em time, this comp is all about development.

Flippin' 'eck Ed. Why do we get greedy when we are going at 10 an over.

I'm not sure why Rob Yates needed to play that shot. And Alex Davies nearly got out playing a risky pull shot. this game is under control, just don't throw it away.

They're all determined to win this game in less than 30 overs, ridiculous.

We need to be careful we don't lose another couple of wickets, plenty of overs left to get the runs we just need to bat sensibly from now on.

We are seeing the future of our batting for the next few years. I am quite optimistic.

Maybe they've got their eye on the Net Run Rate - could be crucial. Still need to win the game, of course.

fair to say, given we bat (very) solidly to 10, and we were chasing a moderate target, and if NRR may be a factor, that it was worth taking above average risks early on.

Can someone remind me of the qualification process? Is it top team goes straight to semi-final, second and third placed teams from each group play each other to determine the other two semi-finalists?
