Another big game for us. Durham have nothing to play for but it's a fairly strong looking squad.
Same squad for Warwicks.

All contenders playing away today, could be an interesting day.
Hopefully a win today and a route to the semi final or at least a home quarter final to play for on Tuesday.

Very good to see Kai smith at the top of the batting averages, and leading run scorer.
It's often interesting to see what the opposition has to say. The Durham preview says:
"Ian Westwood’s first season as head coach at Edgbaston has contained some promising signs – Warwickshire have delivered some eye-catching Rothesay County Championship wins and qualification for the Vitality Blast quarter-finals. To lift the Metro Bank One-Day Cup would assure supporters that their side is settling again after the long period of transition since winning the 2021 County Championship – and also underline Ed Barnard’s credentials to be the next club captain."
Ed would be a very wise choice as club captain, good to see that people away from our club can see that.
OHD in for Jake L, the only change. I guess, a seamers wicket.
We won the toss and chose to bowl.
"You can take the boy out of Atherstone, but you can never take Atherstone out of the boy !"
"The Bears and the (footballing) Foxes for ever !"

This is the exact same preview, word for word, that was in the Somerset pre game notes last Sunday.

Interesting! I suspect that Brian Halford is involved somewhere, though I may be quite wrong.
You could call it 'Lazy Journalism' but having said that it is complimentary so we like it.
I think Halford was credited with it yes.
This looks the sort of pitch where anybody who has tried to force the scoring rate has got out unless they are really 'in' and well set. Another beauty from Taz Ali for his wicket.
Raine has just taken Taz for 22.
301 to win, could be tough, trust us to concede that many against a side that might struggle to qualify. I seem to remember them doing the same at Edgbaston 2 seasons ago when they finished bottom of the group and it was the only game we lost.
Yeah hard to gauge the conditions when only watching on the live stream.
Alex Lees showing that time at the crease will never fail you. No matter the struggle early on etc just don't give it away, hang on in there. Great innings.

That passage was lifted from the ECB's official Metro Bank One Day Cup preview. Penned by none other than our esteemed cricket writer, Brian Halford.
Typically, Ben Raine always turns up against the Bears. His form has been patchy until we rock up.
Also, typically, Davies is out when we need an innings from him. What is that now... one decent knock in seven matches?
Another well judged run chase.
Ed, what can you say, we are running out of great things to say. Booth, becoming a really good all-round player, loads of confidence.
The confidence from Booth. Fantastic. Well done to him for how he came out, and finished that game.
With Middlesex and Somerset playing the bottom two teams, and Yorkshire having a vastly superior net run rate, it looks like we'll probably need to win to qualify and hope that Middlesex don't get a huge win themselves.
Brilliant result. Excellent from Booth, hard to imagine us picking a side without him in it if he's fit these days. Barnard, this is why you have to back people, he was quietly having a poor comp with the bat, talking about picking yer moments though!
