Just looked on their site, someone there needs to look again at our first game v Surrey as it appears whoever typed it, thinks we batted first and spent the first 4 sessions batting and then bowled out Surrey for 328.

Yeah I just saw too. I remember the commentators made the point last year he uaed the trip to see friends and family and check up on his flat or something. And he was a good fielder so helpful as a sub.

Having said that, a quick left armer would help the variety of the seam attack. Can't see him playing seeing as there were two otber southpaws in the second team game that finished today that weren't him.

Garton pretending to be a red ball cricketer for one game a season so he can go home for the weekend is an absolute joke.

Maybe his mum insisted it was in his contract.

We were the only team in Div 1 to elect to bat

I spotted that. It seems an absolutely crazy decision, no idea why we chose that, at this stage of the season, with so much damp in the ground and humidity in the air. Barnard or Westwood must have seen something in the state of the wicket, perhaps likely to break up later?

Its looks a decent cricket wicket tbf with a bit of pace and carry. Hove is traditionally pretty flat. We'll see. Thought Sussex bowled really well. The Davies dismissal in isolation looks poor but Robinson set him beautifully by getting tight to the stumps then coming a fraction wider for the wicket ball in order to lure Davies into following a ball that was actually going wide of off stump. The Aussies nick people off like that. Think Hain was trying to force something that just wasn't there.

Beau Webster is proper player, love watching him.

Just a bit of a laugh - and it does make sense to use him as a fielder. Whether the club wants to be seen as producing this mirth, however, is conjecture. I had genuinely forgot he was with Warwickshire and think it's a bit of a shame he hasn't kicked on in other formats. He's brisker than the mean average of our right-arm seam cohort, a lefty and a good fielder. Would really fit into the four-day side if he wanted or was able to do it.

Also good banter re his mum / mom negotiating his contract to this regard.

40 overs in and the ball is still zipping about, makes you wonder why with all our seamers we decided to bat first?
