Got there in the end! It seems all our victories the last couple of seasons are very tight games.
It's a great knack to have to win the close games but it would also be nice to get a convincing win on the cards.
Thank god for that
Well done to the bowling unit today, they put everything in and had a real desire to win the game - it was good to see. Pleased for Barnard too to get the first win on the board this season.

Was about as convincing as you can get in what was a low scoring contest against a peer county at this level. Good signs there. Webster bringing his decent 2026 Sheffield Shield bowling form to the party
Decent crowd in for a Monday too who really stuck with the guys.
Brilliant from the bowlers and Barker's spell this morning, like turning the clock back to 2012 (WTF, 14 years ago) and the little cricketer in my head is saying, "That bloody Sussex game, if only....". Can we please have pitches like this for the rest of the season, even though there were some awful shots and the overheads also played their part.

The pitches over towards the Hollies side can often be more sporting (relatively speaking given it is still after all an Edgbaston pitch) than the central strips or the slower straw coloured ones over Pershore Road side. And those are what we will likely be using especially the next 2 games while the piling is ongoing at the building site. Glamorgan is on a strip way way over to the hollies side making for a very short boundary that side and an extremely long boundary the other way
Yes incredibly short boundaries to the next two games after complaints from builders. We have notified the other counties as we clearly feel guilty!
Was surprised to see Barwell watching Leicester’s game rather than working on the wicket at lunch on Saturday!
If it's that silly then the Glamorgan game really ought to be switched either to a nearby ground or to Cardiff and play the September 8th game here at Rugby School or Stratford upon Avon
Yorkshire game isn't meant to be quite so silly but that Glamorgan game if the pitch they're on about is only 45 yards from the Hollies it'll be ridiculous and spectators will be having to bring their hard hats due to the ricochets off the stanchions. There was one a couple of years back that hit one of those stanchions and dropped like a bullet. Would have killed someone for sure

Well Barwell is in Leicestershire!!
Great win !! Vital after the last two games
Delighted that Webster got stuck in and showed his talent which is clear once he gets going.
