I doubt they will declare until they have put us out of the game. The pitch has done nothing and if they got a lead of 250 at lunch, I don't think the pitch will have anything more in it to give their bowlers a chance.

Get in Mikey! Now then...
Now then...
I get its been a long day in the field but why aren't we taking the new ball here?!
Have seen none of today so can't really comment on play. Seems from the card though by enforcing the follow on made it a more complex route to win. Seems to be a case now of get the last six wickets in 30 overs or less and then chase no more than 250 of 60 to a little over in overs. Does still leave Notts a chance.
We gambled by putting them back in and it hasn't paid off, but we're still in a good position. Hopefully our bowlers won't be too tired after bowling 169 overs on the trot over the last couple of days.
Did we take the new ball in the end or were we saving it for the morning and fresh legs?
Should have had a few overs with a new ball and then in the morning, it's still new.
Took it midway through the 82nd over.
I didn't know that, thanks for the update. Their tail is biggish so a couple of early wickets would be ideal.
They're not that far ahead. A couple of early wickets will put us in the box seat. The ball is only 8 overs old. Agree about the umpiring......shockingly bad decision making at times. COYB!
Happy we put them in again given how difficult it's going to be taking 20 wickets. A couple of quick ones in the first hour and we're in with a real shout.
Notts are scoring so quickly and are nearly 180 ahead, so unless we have a 'Clatter' of wickets, this is looking like it could be done at lunch in terms of us not winning.
Strange that Webster has only just bowled his 9th over out of 111 in this innings, not really sure why he's been held back while Thompson has had 19 overs?
So 85 runs in 24 overs this morning, almost exactly the 3.5 rpo they have scored the entire match. I don't think they will want to set us anything but it isn't that far away from that being the only outcome from this match that isn't a draw...
Our attack has looked a little like the first couple of games this season, with a lack of variety. Barker gave us that in the last match so hopefully he will play in the next one. I also think it would be worth considering giving Taz Ali a start as well.
I agree Devon, Taz would have given us some variety and seeing as the weather forecast was bang on, they must have known we would have good conditions for batting. Not sure why Barker wasn't included because he was the difference in the end, in the Essex game. I don't think in this game, it would have made any difference if we had decided against the follow-on, the pitch is dead and it would have been a struggle to get another 10 wickets if we had set them 450 in 110-115 overs.
Thank goodness we don't play until 8th May, don't know how many of our bowlers would have made it this Friday! I do think Westwood needs to change from filling the side full of medium paced all-rounders, we definitely need more variety in our bowling attack. Barker, Gilchrist & Taz Ali in the side for me against Yorkshire.
As it stands we are top of the league but we’ve played one more game than the 3 below us.
Agree 100% with Devon, we need more variation in the bowling attack.
On the whole I think this was OK, all div 1 games were draws and we got max bonus points so we strengthened our position. I admire the intent in going for the win by enforcing the follow on, just couldn't finish it off. Not being able to finish a side off is a familiar story but being aggressive going for the win is actually a welcome development from the not-to-distant past. It's getting better I would say...
