Lintott has 'burning desire' to play red-ball cricket - https://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/articles/cj3ed01n605o

Great interview on BBC Cricket. Talking about his history, his record and his desire to play red ball cricket. I had a feeling he'd supplant Briggs as our first choice spinner in the CC this season and this interview probably has been done to justify that.

Good on him, he deserves it. For his perseverance, as much as his skills.

Good article and listening to Westwoods thoughts on Abu Dhabi, he may have put himself in the frame. Good luck to him.

Is leaving Warwickshire, open letter by sent via email today:

I am writing to you to express my gratitude for the support and love you’ve given to me over the last seven seasons as my time with the Bears comes to an end.

Playing for this club has been an absolute honour. As a kid, all I ever wanted to do was play professional cricket. This club had faith in me when no one else did. They gave me the opportunity to fulfil my dreams. The last seven seasons have been some of the best years of my life and for that I will always be grateful.

Edgbaston is a special place. I will miss playing in front of you all and I want to thank you all for the support you have given me during my time at the club.

I want to thank all of the coaches and staff I have worked with at the club, it’s been a lot of fun and your support never went unnoticed. Lastly, I want to thank my team mates. It’s a special dressing room to be a part of and I have been lucky to have such a great bunch of team mates across the years.

I am obviously gutted that we never made it to a Finals Day and didn’t get a white ball trophy. However, I have absolutely no doubt that this team will achieve special things in all formats in the coming years and it would make nobody happier than me, to see this club lift silverware in the near future.

They say all good things must come to an end. I am extremely sad to be saying goodbye to you all, but the time is right to move on and I am excited for whatever comes next.

Unclear whether retiring from professional cricket or moving to a new county

He might seek to play T20 around the world.

strange, in some ways he started coming into his own as an all-round cricketer last year, the 50ovs showed real development in his batting and his fielding had become pretty good too. His bowling though seemed to have gone backwards slightly, whether from people working him out and getting used to his odd action or maybe a case of the yips.

I'd love for him to have stayed as the l/a wrist spin is an x factor thats nice to have and he's definitely a whole-hearted cricketer. I'm sadder about this than I would have imagined, actually.

on the bright side that hopefully opens up the field for Taz Ali to play a big role in the T20 this year.

It’ll be strange this year without Briggs and Lintott in the Blast.

An all round good bloke.

A highlight for me was in a lost cause at Chelmsford a couple of years ago when he brightened up the day for the travelling fans with a brutal 50.

I hope he goes on to get a few 20/20 gigs.

Another highlight was the unbeaten 50 to defeat his home county at Taunton last year in a big run chase.

Can’t see him playing for Warwickshire again, apart from anything else Westwood would appear to be non spin friendly, hence the reason for this. Taz unfortunately will be a bit part this year also. Think Warwickshire wanted him to retire and coach the women but he clearly thinks he has more professional cricket to give.
