314 to win @5.13 an over.
314 to win @5.13 an over.
Can we just start on 0-1 and not bother sending Davies out?
That is probably the best idea here all week!
from what I saw Rew jr has an interestingly different style to the elder Rew- much more bottom-handed? Rew elder looks very classical from what I have seen, jr looks a bit more like say Jonny Bairstow?
Zen opening

I'm being deliberately facetious but don't you think there's a more obvious reason why their batting styles might look different?

Said after I first saw him live in 2024 re. James, the short ball will sort him out at the highest level, good player though he clearly is.
Tom looks even better with bat and gloves in my opinion.
Protecting Davies or moving him to a place more suited to his form, or lack thereof?

OOOf. we had to do something and there didn't seem to be another option. Davies's confidence must be rock bottom.

I’m surprised at Somerset’s conservative approach this morning, thought they’d look to get runs on the board quickly, stick us in well before lunch and aim to bowl us out. As it is, it looks as if we’ll need to negotiate two sessions, which surely we can achieve … can’t we??!
agree 100% they seem to have been very conservative bordering on negative
Devil’s advocate but him having kept in pretty hot weather for 150 overs might have a role in it.
Suspect it’s just that Davies is knackered after keeping.
May work to our advantage is we have a go after tea.
Early days but I like the way Malik is shaping up. Nice and busy and straight.
Yeah Malik tends to be a slightly more fluent starter too and feels more conducive to a racey start if we are to go after this chase.
Hand injury for Ogborne, get a spinner in!
Overton is a right w*****. Embarrassing behaviour.
As a matter of fact Somerset fans & players seem to be tossers.

Oh what happened?
Overton stepping right up to Malik, mouthing and then still chuntering way after the over was finished.

I noticed that, he's incessant.
Makes you wonder what there mother is like because from what I have heard of the father as well, they are all a bunch of mouthy wankers.
