Some of Tariq's deliveries had me looking at the umpires to see if they were looking at each other as regards his action. When he appeared to bowl with a higher arm, it appeared as though he got more turn. He is a weird one but we can't fault his economy rates.

The ball he bowled immediately after he recieved treatment on his fingers looked very suspect!

I well remember the rapt acclaim that greeted Davies's century against Northants in the 50 overs last year #cricketschirping

I think confusing online fans with the average bears fan would be the mistake. Online fans in general are whingers.

I've sat near to a fair few whingers over the years at Edgbaston. But maybe I should allow for the possibility that it was sitting near me that made them so miserable.

That was coming in at 4. Best position for him in Ltd overs IMO. He and Kai Smith batted well together that day and made/make a natural partnership. Busy at the crease and running well between the wickets, kept it ticking over and got their boundaries as bonuses, never let a world class leggie settle never mind pin them down, their styles and attributes complemented perfectly. I don't think we think or teams think enough about that sort of thing FWIW, how partnerships do (or don't) gell together.

Looked like they were born to bat together.

Webster is going to be a huge miss in both comps, which is testament to how good an overseas signing he has been. Given our record with overseas has been pretty poor over the years we have to give the club a lot of credit for this one.
