No Barnard (injured), no Yates (unclear). Beau will captain.

Ed Barnard has been struggling with his back injury for several weeks, and did well to keep playing

Hopefully the absence of Yates does not lead to a recall for Davies who has done nothing to justify a place in the squad. You can not expect to win games if you are playing a specialist batsman with an average of just 3.5.

Did the feed stop working for anyone else? All of the second innings? Probably worth a break, it was a frustrating game!

Can't get our innings live stream, ok for theirs, is it me?

They have posted an internet problem around the ground affecting scoreboard as well. Looking at score perhaps it's like that for our benefit!

I managed to find a commentary in Hindi and a picture of the ground between innings but not much else.

And an excellent win.

At 49/5 the last thing you expect is a 100 partnership! So annoyed the gremlins stopped us from seeing it. If only we had won one of the first 5 games.

That's not the first time Kai Smith has come in with us in strife and got us out of a hole.

Looked at Kai's contributions this camapign. Averaging 37 but only two catches. Probably the nature of the game. Hope that sets him up nicely for the metro bank. Shame couldn't get more out of Hamza and Jani (though couldn't fault that latter's strike rate). From what I saw a very odd game though seemed both teams were over it. Still some results to come in but looks like our group was the strongest

Yeah he's done it 3 or 4 times in the ODC, including the brilliant ton in the QF against Worcs, Rugby and Taunton last year to name 2 more

My feeling is the circumstances suited him today with the low required RR, at this point I feel the tempo of a 50 over game suits his game best. Under those circumstances he's shown an excellent ability to get himself in and accelerate at the right time. Today will do his confidence the world of good, still think we should play him higher up the order in the ODC. Other than Malik, of the fringe batsmen he has shown the most tangible promise so far so he's the dude we should try to give max overs at the crease IMO

If only we had made the most of being in a good position v Somerset at home, we would be going through but Somerset scrape in even though they probably think smugly that they have a divine right to go through, I would sooner have seen those Pears go through.

So Northants and Gloucs have played each other twice in the groups and now face each other in the quarters?!

What are people's thoughts on the 3 groups of 6 format by the way?

I'm happy with the 3 groups of 6 (they need a regular - random, seasonal - mix up though, not just going on regional lines), but it shouldn't be a full draw for the Quarters, they should always ensure clubs don't play others from their group again.

Final t20 averages

Makes for interesting reading and shows some of the selection errors?

Why was Tarriq missing yesterday? In baseball it's quite common for the pitchers to have elbow injuries from all the throwing.
