Team:-
Jani (Captain)
Nahal
Davies (Keeper)
Kai Smith
Garton
Malik
MO Khan
Taz Ali
Bamber
Garlick
OHD

Absences from the previous game - Gekis, Dandy, Gilchrist, Miller, Pigeon & Nadeem - so I guess none of them will figure in next Tuesday's MBC game (so no Gilchrist then, which I half expected).
I would guess Management will want to look at how Jani, Davies, Garton, Malik & Kai perform as batsmen and how Bamber, Taz & OHD do, as bowlers. Obviously Hamza has moved on, so he won't be in the mix now.

And no Barker or Lintott today, so they are unlikely for Tuesday (though I guess Jake's recent Blast run and performances, might mean he doesn't need to prove himself)

Notts won the toss and chose to bat, making 352 for 8 (!) off their 50 overs. The only bowler to cone out with any credit, was OHD (10-2-38-4), so a big plus point for him. Taz was battered a bit (68 off his 10 overs), for no return, Bamber took 1 wicket (but for 78 runs off his 10), so I think it fair to say, no plus points for them. Jani was the only other wicket taker.

It's a small ground (obviously helping the Notts score), so it will be interesting to see if our batsmen can take advantage.

Malik pushed up the order, to open with Jani, so I guess he's being evaluated for Tuesday.

Feel like these 2 both definitely play (if fit) Tuesday irrespective of what happens today?

Im surprised Lintott isn't playing here if he's gonna be available for us?

I agree, Andy. It helps that they've put on an undefeated (so far) 94 in 13 overs though. Malik more likely now that Hamza has moved know.

I agree, but as I said above, it could be that his (relative) success for Kent in the Blast, recently, might mean he doesn't need to prove himself in this game. The only other front line spinner, Taz, has had few opportunities, so far this season and so probably needed to show some form (unfortunately, it doesn't appear to have happened today).

Seems they are romping to victory here and it's mainly Jani that's doing it, back to back centuries with some good scores on other recent games as well (ie 2XI T20). I'd say that inks him in as Rob Yates opening partner for the first MB game and Malik will be in there somewhere. Was intrigued to see Davies keeping but paired alongside Kai in the batting order and Davies has scored more runs (though not yet a lot of runs). Might not be determined that Kai keeps in the competition and I have always seen Davies playing in this. Given he hasn't bowled and yet batted, I think that's Garton out now, at least for the first few games. My take was Gilchrist was defo in for this competition hence not playing now, OHD also but the seam bowlers will probably rotate and from the looks of it not including Booth or Simmons, which I think is a bit of a shame as that's all the sharper bowlers out now. One I genuinely don't know about is Theo Wylie. A week ago I would say he was in but having not played in these last two games you kind of assume not now.

Yep, Vansh is a nailed on cert for opening on Tuesday (and probably every MBC game) - 217NO (28x4's, 10x6's in 151 balls!). And Malik (55 off 48 balls) & Davies (52 off 49 balls) contributed enough, to pretty much guarantee their places. Only Smith missed out (11). Obviously, without batting, the jury will be out on Garton, so I see it a toss up between him and Kai - especially with Shaikh going.

My bet for the starting XI on Tuesday:-
Yates
Jani
Hain
Malik
Davies
Garton / Smith
Booth / Barker (obviously depending who is fit)
Lintott / Ali
Bamber
Gilchrist
OHD
