Club says:
"Bears’ batting coach Matt Walker will leave the club at the end of the season after accepting the Head Coach position at Sussex County Cricket Club."

Bit disappointing. Ive said before we seem to have a fairly huge turnover in coaching stsff every couple of years. Particularly so in comparison to other counties.

Would imagine he's tight with Farbrace.

What Matt Walker didn't say:
"Having worked non-stop to transform Alex Davies' batting performances, I now feel the need for a lesser challenge."

A higher level role and closer to home and family, seems a sensible move for him,

Also, looking at some of the batting performances and averages this season, his coaching isn't working with some of our players.

On the flipside to that Yates has had his most productive season for a while and Mousley you could probably say the same for too, especially in T20.

As I said, not working with some of our players.

He seemed to have a decent rapport with the lads.

As if anyone here would be so cruel, but accurate, about a former captain :-)

Possible replacements?
What's Bell doing these days - is he still working with England?

He seems to have done well with the younger players. Malik and Jani are on an upward trajectory. The less said about Davies the better but he probably doesn't take constructive criticism too well.
