I think once we got that third we were ahead though Surrey did some work to keep at it. Been thinking this competition as a whole we've got one or two too many unnatural white ball bowlers. I'd have put Barnard into that category too but having watched him from the over where he got the wicket he seems to have slowed right down, floating it up, little cutters, etc. In other words, turned into a more T20 type seamer - and that type of bowling was important to closing it out. Fair do's to him for having the mindset to learn a new skill relatively late in his career. I would have thought Taz would come back for Rugby and think Booth will be more effective there as well. OHD could do wirh a rest, despite his 5fer. Who else would sit out? Barnard won't be available on Sunday but wouldn't have thought either of those could replace him.

The shops been shit for years now and its a shame, its all about the online these days. Do you go many games? Its usually just all England and Hundred stuff, even some IPL stuff which is weird.

Judging by the pretty large and enthusiastic crowd today the game was very much "wanted" id have said.

Great win, Barnard MOTM, made it look incredibly easy. Garton run out moment of the match.

Re. Surrey, that Josh Blake looks a good player, the only one that really looked like threatening us. Another keeper/batter they've got!

Was very surprised by the size of the crowd in the pavilion when I walked in for the second innings. Really encouraging to see a crowd of that size in a rare 50 over game at Edgbaston.

You misunderstand me. It was a surprisingly good crowd, the ground looked empty but everyone was crowded around the one bar that was open! The crowd wanted it but it feels like it was a bit of an inconvenience to WCCC. Don’t get there too often, but come to all sorts of games.

Our fielding was outstanding - we are blessed to have two excellent fielders in Garton and Yates. Kai, Jake and Zen were very good as well today, ensuring one’s didn't become two’s.

Our running between wickets was also excellent with numerous two’s, particularly in the last 10 overs. Be interesting to see the breakdown of runs by each side - I’m pretty sure we will have more two’s.

yeah good point we ran a load of twos

not sure if this has always been a thing but i'd guess the IPL stuff is because we hosted an England - India game this summer and they were looking to cash in on the majority-Indian spectators that day?

I think the club shop is trying to buy in to the Indian market, and in general the surge of “mystery cricket shirt” boxes. They’ve had BBL and CPL shirts in there I believe, and they tend to be there year round.
