Hopefully we do not include specialist batters who are aaveraging below 17 in the championship.
Suthar won't be available til September, currently playing for India v Sri Lanka.

With a change of Smith for Davies, that looks a reasonable team, but I'd , have Jani batting at 5 with Smith at 7, & keeping.
Obviously if Chris Woakes is fit I'd include him in the team.

Just an update on Keith Barker.
He played for Enfield CC in the Lancashire League on Saturday and took a match winning 4-22.
That was his 16th match for Enfield this summer.
He leads the Enfield stats this year in both runs scored and wickets taken.
No Hain for at least the Sussex match as per the latest edition of “The Bear”.
Encouraging to read that Woakes should be available at some point.

First day of County Championship cricket at Edgbaston tomorrow since May 18th. Crazy.
Interesting there's no spinner in the squad considering the dryness of the summer. The club also included a "rallying call" to fans asking for as many as possible on the Hollies side of the ground to tally up with the pitch location.
Sussex squad looks relatively weak so this feels in the realm of must-win if we're serious about winning the Championship.
