Yep. Winning the toss will be a major factor.
The forecast on the Met is better than it was yesterday. Had two rain dots for Thursday and one for Friday. Now it's just one for Thursday but even still, will have to be more improvement if any result is possible.
Somerset are away at Sussex and Hove has a slightly better forecast than here so they could steal a march on us/Notts.
Hain and Simmons added to the same squad as last week.
Hain for Zen, Young up to opener?
Unfortunately Davies is in the squad despite another double failure in the last match. Hain for Malik is a no brainer.
Hain for Malik with Young to open does make us stronger both at opener and number four.
I'm intrigued to see Simmons in the squad but can't see him playing. I mentioned it earlier in the season, but I hope the club can make something out of him as he promises a lot - and I don't think they would have included him were they intending to let him go.
So without the Indian spinner (who's name I forget) the bowlers line up as per the last game. Which I think is for the best.
Forecast looks set for a washout.
Would be a shame to see the title decided by performances against other teams without an opportunity to beat them ourselves after a strong showing at Trent Bridge earlier in the season.
This weather is exactly why it was so wrong-headed for the Club, ECB and PCA to want to reduce the number of Championship games.

These hernia like symptoms that need managing must be quite significant. Shame, he looked in great rhythm v Sussex and has a decent record v Notts.

2 poor overs from Bamber to open up there. Never had to play at anything 1st up & then opened the buffet for the 2nd.......he need to tighten up

On the other hand, why risk him in a game that's likely to be a draw? The "hernia-like symptoms" are very vague. I've actually got a hernia right now, above the belly button, and it doesn’t affect me doing anything. But I work in an office and don't bowl 20 overs a day. I also don't know the limits of what I can do and was advised not to push it until I found out.

Yeah he would probably need a rest anyway in the run in so given the weather forecast it feels sensible to do it in this one.
And actually it's been more sunny than overcast during the Notts innings so far.
