Not watched any of today but seems like Notts have taught us a bit of a lesson in eking out points. I've said a few times this season I don't expect us to win it, Notts mindset today shows where we need to get to. Respect them for that.

I don't think we'll lose but Notts certainly seem to have turned up un a mote positive frame of mind today.

Back to the present - looks like we will be doing our best to avoid an innings defeat as looks quite likely we will be following on. Where is the rain when you need it?
Davo :(
3 runs of 28 balls, out to a dreadful shot, with no foot movement.
Davies is currently unselectable and needs to be dropped for the rest of the season.
Allowing him to continue in the side, with zero consequences for his constant failures, is harming the side and has a dreadful demoralising effect on the rest of the team.

Surely his knock today has improved his batting average!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, I just cannot understand why he keeps being selected. He is keeping a young up and coming batsman an opportunity to prove his worth.
His average was 14.87 from 15 innings, it is now 14.125 from 16, a total of 226 runs for the season.
As somene said a few days ago Matt Lamb had an average of 48 and had scored centuries in the season he was forced out. Matt was a local player as well, from Barnt Green.
Hopefully we can get the 13 runs needed without any further loss and declare rather than give them a chance for a 3rd bowling point.
The puzzle with Davies is how this has happened? This is a guy that has twice scored over 1000 runs in a season so he must have talent. Is it a mental issue? Is he working with a sports psychologist?
I know, its just been an unbelievable drop off, 3rd highest run scorer in the division in 2024 and named in the PCA team of the year, our highest run scorer in the Blast in 2025...to this. Its remarkable.
And, sadly, some supporters have revelled in his demise.

Looks like we aren’t allowed to!
Why haven't we declared? Why can't we declare?

Not allowed to do it purely to deny bonus points.
Notts must have somehow made a case they were progressing the game.
Ok, fair one.
Hold up, so what have Middlesex done up at Derby then?

Suggested earlier they would talk to the match referee beforehand.
Presumably we don’t want to risk a sanction?
Well Middlesex will get sanctioned then surely?

I don’t know what time they forfeited but perhaps they approach the referee to suggest that wanted to get a result.

Having followed their game (admittedly via cricinfo), I can't see how that could have been the case. Curious one.
Doesn’t seem to have occurred to Bracegirdle or Britt that Warwickshire can still get a batting point,
They are talking absolute nonsense!
What's getting said?
