Bamber now has 53 championship wickets and is the second highest wicket taker in Div 1 behind Kyle Abbott on 57.
Somerset have lost 9 wickets for 167, might have blown a chance to put Leicestershire out of the game. They might still have done so but max batting points was on definitely. I hope we can get a good amount of batting points, we need to try and get up close to both Somerset and Notts as they have a little advantage in points.
Pretty good time to have probably our best day of the season, certainly our best day away. Bamber is just an exceptional asset. Constantly challenging both right and left handers, but with an almost undepletable stamina, too. Certainly the type of bowler you build an attack around.
Tough to lose Young relatively late on, but hopefully these two can stay set and push us towards those batting points in the morning.
So Notts and Somerset both end with 3 batting points. Would be nice if we could get 4 or at least match them.
Really, really need to somehow get max batting points here...
And Leicestershire to stop being useless...
It's a good old ding dong between us and the other sides and I guess this sort of thing is usual at the top. I read a piece in the Guardian some time ago that titles only rarely come down to bonus points. I think this one will be an exception. We've got the same WDL record as Notts and equal on match points with Soms. So yeah, agree with that Andy, how realistic is it we get 450 within 110 overs? Another point, we're further along in our game than either of our competitors are, it's a possibility we win and they draw which would change things a lot.
126 for 2 that session.
170 from 37 overs is achievable but you have to reckon on Smith maybe to motor it along so as not to leave too much for the tail (Not referring to The Wizard here) to do. Ed can move it on as well. Either way, we have a good lead which will grow anyway.
That dismissal of Barnard has potentially cost us a real shot at getting the extra points here...
Glamorgan elect not to take the new ball, Carlson still bowling...
Probably won't get 400 now, this is very disappointing despite the fact that we are well in control of the game.
That is an absolute stinker against OHD, i'm not sure it would've hit three sets of stumps!
Big leg spinner from round the wicket to a left hander to which he's got a big stride down to.
Smith should have taken control and kept the strike as much as possible. Allowing OHD so much of the strike has cost us getting the 4th batting point. Still a really good team performance - just need to finish this game off with an innings win.
Congratulations to Kai, his 49 not out, means from just 4 innings in this 3rd game this season he is just one run short the the total Davies required 16 innings over twn ganes, he has alao scored more runs than Malik & Jani who have had more games and innings.
Perhaps it is time we started to appreciate what a talented player he is and allow him the opportunities he needs to go onto further success.
He is also taking more catches and stumpings per game,
Now is the time to make him the #1 keeper for the rest of this season and next year. Dougie Brown should be very pleased with how Kai has developed as a player, a great credit to cricket in the UAE.
Better hope we don’t miss out by a point because that LBW on Hannon-Dalby isn’t great.
Hampshire have avoided the follow on at least, not that Notts would necessarily have enforced it anyway.
Yeah, both Notts and Somerset have plenty of time to bat twice and bowl oppo out. The only thing it does do is mean their games will go three days at least you'd think. Whereas hopefully we can get our game done quicker than that and get some extra rest in - especially important with the short turnarounds.

Agreed. Also bear in mind his time is spent with tail enders at the other end, like today, making it more difficult to build his innings.
