What a turnaround, at one time it looked as though Hampshire would follow-on and now they need just one good batting display. They owe us, in 2011, beating us and Durham towards the end of the season, capitulating v Lancashire in one final session in the penultimate game and then drawing with us in that final game to deny us the title - Time to do us a favour I think.

I thought Hampshire would put up a bit of a fight seeing as they really need a win but they are as bad as their fans were saying last week on the BBC Cricket site. A lot were saying that they are so poor and did nothing to address the batting at the end of last season, that they really hope they go down so something can be done once and for all to put it right. Total crap and it's as you were at the top. I just hope for our sake, that Essex and Leicestershire play as badly against us as they have played in this round of games.

They rather spoil their credibility by claiming that he equalled the record of "English pioneer Tom Hayward, who effected three dismissals in six deliveries across two innings for Leicestershire against Surrey in 1895 at the Oval."
In fact, Hayward played for Surrey, not Leicestershire; and in the match quoted, he took 0-7 in the first innings and 1-20 in the second. So goodness knows whose record Suthar equalled.
I'd put that claim down with the stories in the North Korean press of Kin Jun Il scoring 18 holes in one on his first ever game of golf!
He ought to play Trump then, you can imagine 2 cheats trying to out-do each other. Very Sad.
To be fair, the Indian Express almost got it right. The match was in 1895, it was between Leicestershire and Surrey. But it was at Leicester, not the Oval; and Surrey's Tom Hayward took 1-0 off three balls in the first innings and 2-0 off another three balls in the second innings.
Hampshire must wish they had done better, earlier, the last pair have put on 41 so far. Take Pennington and Stone away and that's not a brilliant attack for Notts. Not sure of anyone could tell me Stone's bowling figures for us but they weren't as good as his time so far for his latest county.
68 wickets @ 19 from 16 matches in 4day cricket for us between 2017-2022. I think.
Finished off now though and as you were after three brilliant performances from both our rivals as well as us.
To Paul's point, it does seem Notts rely on Stone and Pennington and they've had to bowl so much more in the last two games than our bowlers. No-one did more than 15 overs in our game while Stone/Penn have got through 40 each. In terms of outcome, it's been about the same. But you wonder if fatigue will get to them sooner or later, wonder if it already has, they have had some difficulties finishing off innings both in this game and last weekend's round.
Definitely relying on Pennington to Stone at the moment. Easy to forget they had Fergus O'neill amd Tongue throughout April/May though. This Giles lad looks handy enough but Hutton has had a fairly quiet season by his standards, they're missing Lyndon James overs and this Sheat looks, well, shit.
Stone has had an incredible few weeks. That was his 9th 4day game this season.

Durham promoted to Division 1
Let's hope that Notts are feeling that fatigue and because we have not had to do loads of bowling, just 140.2 overs in the last 2 games, that's 35 overs per innings over 5-6 bowlers. Suthar could be a superb signing, he's bowled so well so far and he could go at one end whilst the seamers are operating at the other end.
Thanks Andy, those figures surprise me as I didn't think he did too much but then again I don't remember him making major contributions to games except that 2021 game at Trent Bridge during that run chase where he batted well with Tim Bresnan (Brezzy Lad) as we got to our total.
