Indeed, that last 5'fer is a great epitath for the guy. Obviously, he's got to be Player of the Season.

Yep, truly a wonderful end to the season. Who'd have thought we'd be where we are, after those first couple of results.
It is a great tribute to the whole team of Players and Coaching staff. But the biggest plaudits should go to:-
Ethan B - obviously Player of the Season
Ed Barnard - for really upping his Captaincy skills in the latter part of the season and the contribution he's made with bat & ball
Westie for showing how perseverance can bring success
Sam Hain - for ONCE AGAIN, holding our batting together. How England can ignore him, is a disgrace (but good for us) and I hope he doesn't dwell on that.
Woakesy for 'hanging on in there', (largely) overcoming all those injury concerns and showing he's the one of the greatest of Bears.
And finally, our 'Pop', his return must be a huge factor in us getting where we have, 'cos let's face it, its the seam bowlers who've done the most to get us this Trophy and I dont think we'd have done it, without him.

Credit too for the recruitment of players, In 2012 when we won the title, that side faded away gradually till about 2017-2020 and then we won the title again with great new recruits and had to do it again if you consider only Hain, Yates and Woakes finished that deciding game v Somerset in 2021. The overseas choices have been superb and have made things a lot smoother than having players who really never do much. From the 22nd August, everything has gone well for us especially the penultimate round of games where Sussex and Yorkshire helped us out but we lost the toss more times than not but got stuck in and 3 away fixtures out of the last 4 could have gone terribly wrong but it shows the strength of hanging in and taking each game as a separate occasion and not thinking too far ahead. I bet the accountant was happy with more beer being sold because of the time to take the last wicket. It felt like a real celebration and unlike 5 years ago, I am glad so many hung around to help celebrate.

What a fabulous day - we were relentless and ruthless, another well deserved 5-fear for Ethan Bamber combined with excellent support from Chris W in particular. The celebrations were joyous and for the young members of the team in particular, it must have been magical and inspiring.

It was nice also to see Alex Davies getting some generous applause and equally a warm embraces from Ed B and others, I may be wrong but the body language really gave me the impression that he will be moving on.

A fabulous day and huge congratulations to all at the club for making this happen.

I didn't see us as contenders at the start of the season but in the end the Championship has been thoroughly deserved. Bear in mind that we only played the two relegated counties once each yet nevertheless lost only one game. The string of utterly dominant wins that we produced in the last month means there was only one county who deserved to be crowned this year.
Well done players; well done coaching staff; well done ground staff, people who pull the pints, those who check the tickets. A great year for the Bears.

Managed to catch five wickets today yet missed the crucial last one for a kids fun run. As UrsaMinor says above I didn't see us as title winners and I thought our attack was unbalanced but boy were they useful in September. I guess I didn't really believe until after the Notts game when they suddenly started nailing the big games and the big moments. Massive, because I think this could change things in all formats and for all squad players.
