Anyone heard anymore on how next seasons schedule will look? When can we expect a fixture announcement? Normally around end of Nov isn't it?
Pretty sure the talk was a largely similar schedule to this year.
I read on the Yorkshire White Rose Forum as they finished 5th they will play all the other odd ranked teams once (that means us) and all the even numbered teams twice (e.g. Somerset)
So for example we play Durham (number 9) once and Kent (number 10) twice. I knew already we would play Somerset twice as we're paired up (1&2) but didn't know exactly how they determined which out of each of the other pairs we play once or twice.
So we will only be playing Surrey, Yorkshire, Sussex and Durham once next season whilst playing every other side twice
Means we can definitely look forward to trips to Taunton, Trent Bridge, Cardiff, Chelmsford (or Grace Rd) and Canterbury next season
That is unless the Yorkshire lad has it wrong
Looking at the 2025 placings that isn't how they decided the 2026 fixtures? Unless im completely misunderstanding things. Which is likely.
Think you're right I think there might be a bit of uncertainty still (or simply leeway for the organizers) and it isn't odds and evens at all.
It's definitely been pairs play each other twice and then you play one out of each of the other pairings twice and the other just once. Odds and evens would in theory be slightly unfair on the side finishing 2nd previous season
It's probably something like this (if there even is a method for determining who plays who twice)
Pair 1+2 are Warwickshire and Somerset
Pair 1+2 (1 plays 4 twice and 2 plays 3 twice similar to how they organise end of season play offs in the EFL)
Pair 1+2 (1 plays 5 twice and 2 plays 6 twice)
Pair 1+2 (1 plays 7 twice and 2 plays 8 twice)
Pair 1+2 (1 plays 10 twice and 2 plays 9 twice)
That way 1st ranked side isn't always playing weaker teams than 2nd ranked side. And so on for the other ranked sides and it mixes up the seeding somewhat
If the above is true (totally guessing now) then it'll be Somerset Sussex Notts Surrey and Kent twice the others just once
I wish I could go back to Scarborough again but I suppose that’s extremely unlikely.
Hopefully get a nice one in June or July for another mini break.

An article from mid-September
Daily Mail Sport can reveal that the initial draft of the 2027 domestic schedule includes two rounds of matches in both June and July.
Such a framework would provide players coming back from injury or squad members missing out on selection in England XIs access to four-day action both in the build-up and during the five matches.
County chiefs have also pushed for the Championship to be more evenly spread across the six months of the domestic season in a bid to keep members - increasingly agitated by the domination of the Hundred during peak summertime - happy.
This has been done by removing two of the six rounds that run from 20 August this year and re-positioning them in July.
If the original draft is approved, the 2027 season will feature the County Championship’s earliest ever start of 2 April, beginning with seven rounds of matches, punctuated by three-day gaps. Each team will be given one week off during this initial block.
Twenty20 finals day at Edgbaston is to remain in July, the slot it was shifted to for 2026. (Confirmed for Saturday 17 July, https://www.edgbaston.com/media-article/date-confirmed-for-2027-vitality-blast-finals-day-at-edgblaston)
