With this signing looking to have been relatively successful and not knowing his availability going forward, the thought has occurred whether we may try and extend into the One Day Cup a la Krunal Pandya a few years back? We already look very strong in that comp with Hain not picked up in The Hundred.
I was wondering if Beau might get his contracted extended until the end of August. Huge that Hain is available for the ODC.
If Beau is available he'd be an excellent signing, and maybe even captain for the competition.
In his post-day interview last night, Beau confirmed this is the last county championship match of his current stint.
It's a real shame Webster is going at the end of July. He is a quality cricketer.
Westwood has indicated Suthar may return....
Someone has pointed out that Manav Suthar is playing his first home game for the Bears having previously played five away games. They want to know if this is a record.
Brian Halford reports how Suthar feels about playing for the Bears:
"I am so very happy to have been part of this journey for the Bears and the last game was wonderful to be part of. The crowd was a big part of our success, 100 per cent, from the first day, when there were so many people there willing us on, to the last when they all cheered us over the line.
“I just send big thanks to all the supporters. They are fantastic. The support for Warwickshire is unbelievable and this season has given some lifetime memories to me. Hopefully I will be back at Edgbaston at some point.
"The whole club and every player has been very supportive to me," he said. "I was so happy to be able to come back for the last four games. It is a very special thing to be part of. Winning the title is a great experience and I am really pleased to have contributed some wickets. The whole experience has been wonderful."

He was a really great, timely signing and no doubt contributed to the title success. So congratulations to him and the recruitment team/process.
I would however like to see Taz Ali be given a proper go in red ball next season over an overseas spinner.

yyyyyyyyyyes! I will concede i am an idealist and thus intensely biased towards (a) young homegrown players and (b) wrist spinners and admit that pragmatism may override those things. I hope this does happen but given the choice would totally understand the club going back to Suther, it's them who lose their jobs if it goes wrong not me.
Mr Suthar, please come back every season.
