The Cricket Society offers to members and non-members in the Dollery later this year are (all three at 2.00 pm)
6 October: Daniel Norcross
10 November: Craig Overton
8 December: Graham Gooch
I'm sure that we will want to tell Daniel Norcross how much we enjoy his commentaries; and how could we miss the opportunity to commiserate with the sweet-natured Craig Overton on the unfortunate failure of Somerset to win the Championship (again)?
Some time I’d love to come along to the Cricket Society. I used to attend in London. However I can’t think of three speakers I’d less want to listen to than these!
Let's hope that the Championship Trophy is prominently on display when Craig Overton speaks.

Gooch would be alright, the other 2 can bore off.

To be fair (and I think I've said this before), he is friends with my daughter; and he got the whole of the Test Match Special team to sign a copy of the book that I wrote with my late friend and colleague Dave Bullivant. So his commentaries may be an acquired taste but I do have cause to be grateful to him.
An on-line Cricket Society event for the diary:

The focus will be the current state of the game in the UK and what we might expect moving forwards from English cricket, a broad topic but one that we hope that Society members will enjoy and feel able to participate in."
The event is open to non-Society members:
