Maybe it was such a well worn pitch (albeit a hybrid) that the correct tactics would have been to graft for 150 or so rather than aim for 200 and fail.

Yeah I think 150 would probably have been about par, especially with our spin options. We could have bowled all 20 overs with spin!

Hard to believe what we have just seen. The bloke in front of me said, "Maybe it's a crap wicket and we'll get something out of it too". Spot on sir. Was it the same wicket as the on used on Wednesday? The ball that Maxwell got seemed to stop on him which made it look like a poor shot. Perhaps that is the key now, produce wickets that are slow and turn and have 4 spinners in the side. It makes Hain's innings (Top score yet again) look even better and yet he never had the chance to try and cut loose as he had to try and bat to the end. We really needed this but the group is still wide open.

The pitch had been played on at least twice before and it showed.

Well played the spin quartet. Surely the groundsman would give a clue to how it would play and perhaps we may have selected Lintott instead of Miles, but in the end it didn't matter.
What a talent Mousley is, by the way.
And big shout out to Rhodes on Bears TV commentary who called it as a low scoring thriller and is a natural broadcaster. Career in the media awaits when he hangs up his whites.

Still hard to see us winning after our innings but that's what happens sometimes. I remember us defending 142 to beat Worcestershire once and a slightly higher total to beat Yorkshire but that must be one of the best defences of a small total in the T20. Spinners 8-70 from 16 overs. Also, just looked again at the Mousley wicket and as an LBW it looks very dodgy.

Yeah it just didn't look right did it.

I remember the Worcester 142 as well but on that day I think they batted poorly rather than us bowling exceptionally.

I've been critical of the bowling unit but yesterday I think they did bowl exceptionally. Our dismissals were mostly poor shots, their dismissals were mostly good balls. Mousley and Mo we're excellent.

Am also glad I'm backed up on the Mousley decision as posted straight after it happened and first response was saying it was hitting middle and leg!

I played it back many times and paused it on impact with the pads and I would have gone with the batsman. Yes, we gave away plenty of wickets, such, that my comments if we lost were going to be along the lines of Northants not needing any catching practice during fielding drills as we gave them plenty. Also, it is strange to get bowled out when batting first, but not bowling out the other side whilst still winning the game.

Due to being out for the evening I missed the game live. So later on and watched it from the beginning. Seeing how most of our wickets fell trying to hit the ball in to Cannon Hill Park I very nearly switched the TV off at the interval. Thank goodness I didn't - some superb all round bowling and fielding and has been said virtually all the wickets were achieved through skillful bowling. As a critic of him so far I will say Moeen's bowling was of the highest order.
