Clearly very bowler friendly conditions throughout the 3 days, buts it’s a comfortable win and a job well done. Got the win, got a few bonus points, puts the club in an excellent position to get through to the top group.
What I would say is that the following 3 innings, show how good the first innings was, and that Hains and Burgess’s 70’s we’re equivalent to centuries in tough conditions.

Well done you Bears!! Very good bowling throughout both innings..... Just need more consistency now with the batting, particularly the top order.

Another good win admittedly against very poor opposition. Some say the bowling was erratic but I actually thought there were plenty of wicket-taking deliveries and good use of the conditions. The fielding (the drop in the final over aside) was good again. We had some useful innings but the top order batting does worry me.

Really pleasing start to the season. Oddly the squad, on paper, looks weaker than those that struggled over the last 5 years or so.
Assuming Essex and Notts draw today, we will be 3 points ahead of Essex with a game in hand, 8 points ahead of Notts and 9 ahead of Durham. With Essex having just the one game to play (against Derbyshire) I'd say we are well placed to finish in the top 2. If we beat Durham in our penultimate game I'd think we were pretty much qualified for the top group, a draw and we'd still be in a very strong position with us to play Worcester and Notts v Durham. Durham beating us would make things more .... interesting.

Ah not quite, perhaps Notts v Essex still getting bonus points today. With that game completed we are 2 ahead of Essex, 5 ahead of Notts.
