19-4 Sanderson hat trick

Not sure this was the ever the deal people were claiming!

No wonder Northants were happy to give us that deal.

Constantly folding..need a few players to stand up now and show some fight

Which is the contradiction.

Poor batting side. Poor pitch. Runs on the board.

Not the deal of the century!

So even if the pitch is difficult to score from, this is a target that is more in our favour but yet again, the batting has carried on the way we have seen in the past month. Seems a long time ago when we were getting decent CC scores. Losing here would be a total embarrassment.

Are we completely safe from relegation? The way we are playing at the moment we could very well not out many more points on the board!

Hardly a contradiction

170 on this pitch off 60 overs is a very good deal even if we are not playing well

Northants had no choice regardless as they have to try and win the game.

The pitch isn't that bad been a few partnerships and some very good bowling from OHD

Winning from here would be more of a shock!

I did call it!

This would be a new low.

This is what happens when the moral and enthusiasm of the squad is destroyed by coaches accepting, and rewarding, unacceptably bad performances. None of the three players given full caps this season deserved the honour. Two of the three should feel greatful they have long term contractys as their performances the last two seasons should not see them offered a new contract.

Questions certainly need answering for the way the season has seemingly imploded.

Early on Mr Hain was in form and we were getting some scores, since he has lost form (his injury perhaps is still bothering him?) we have been woeful. No batsmen has stood up to the mantle.

I wish we would look at a new batting coach….how many head coaches have come and gone whilst the batting coach has remained and our batting generally has been the weak link.

They aren't rally tucking into it - played themselves in. Burgess was probably slightly better than expected. Rhode was keeping to Burgess, suffice to say he won't be taking up the gloves again anytime soon.

I know it's been mentioned before but Clive Eakin's breath intakes are infuriating. It's bad enough when the game is exciting, when it's dead like this at the moment... i'm turning off because of it.

I had to turn off. I cannot stand Eakin's sharp intakes of breath. Time for the BBC to give the listeners a break and put him out of his misery.

As a county, we've got a fine history off it this breathing tick. As a 14 year old in 1993 Jack Bannister nearly put me off my early love for the game by doing the exact same thing. I watched one ball at lunch and it was Sanderson getting Mousley. I knew he would get out that ball once he tripped over the boundary rope walking in to bat. I issue a full apology on my "good deal" comment earlier though I did slightly hedge it. I will be making no further comments.

I can't get over how well they're bowling. Not just the wicket taking deliveries, every single ball. Immaculate. I know praising the opposition isn't necessarily the done thing on here but it is what it is.

Not sure the pitch is an absolute minefield either, the odd one is misbehaving though particularly from the City End. Sanderson has swung it round corners and White is always a menace. Interesting to see if Taylor and Proctor can back this up.

176 off 60 overs was clearly a good deal for crying out loud, we were never getting anything more reasonable to chase than that no matter what the circumstances.

Every ball on my stream has movement (unless I've got a dodgy screen ???)

The stats of the match don't lie. Its another overused turgid Edgbaston pitch as has been the case for the last two months,

Its not that its a bad deal per se its more that it was never particularly attractive for us batting last, batting poorly and on this wicket.

Perhaps i have a different view to everyone else but I always thought (knew) we would struggle.

I'll still be v happy if Barnard and Burgess put on a century partnership now.

I don't think anyone claimed it was gonna be easy at any stage (i could be wrong), our batters confidence is through the floor, just that it was a very reasonable target in 60 overs.

One decent partnership gets you close at least, when chasing anything under 180ish.

I think it was more people claiming "good deal" when really the only beneficiaries of any deal were Northamptonshire.

I'd understand it more if they'd said at least we will get some competitive cricket rather than petering out with a draw which was probably in Warwickshire's best interest.

Well yeah glad for some competitive cricket but I still don't think anyone was off their head for claiming 176 off 60 overs was a good deal when Northants declared to give an early lunch and keep time in the game. It was a fair observation.

Anyway OHD to hit the winning runs.
