Leicestershire squad for the final match of 2026.
Shaikh (parent club loan), Gilchrist (end of loan), Ahmed (international duty), and Kelly (rib injury) all miss out on the last match of the season. With Mike, Budinger, Hull and A Green coming in.
Was just coming in to say, no Nick Kelly for Leicestershire is quite a big blow for them.
I’m taking nothing for granted, but with those key players missing - esp Kelly - Leicestershire look a pretty weak team. COYB, it’s ours to lose!
Were we expecting Josh Hull back?
I’m still paranoid about the 1030 start! So much so I’m getting there for the toss tomorrow and get a bacon sandwich in the Dollery!
Hull has taken 56 wickets in 30 first-class games. At some stage he might get a good return and we hope it isn't tomorrow but he's not one to be feared. Kelly, well, he is a big miss for them. I hope we don't freeze on the day(s) and realise we have plenty of time, even if we have a few bad periods where it looks like it's going nowhere, we don't need to strive to get a result as Somerset and Notts need to try to make up points on us, we need to bowl out Leicestershire within 110 overs, get enough batting point depending on what Somerset are doing when they bat and if that's achieved, just calmly play the game with no risk whatsoever.
Ian Holland worries me, been in great form with the ball now for a few weeks.

This is when I wish I lived nearer and no longer worked but come on lads we can do this! Will be following on tenterhooks from the moment the coin is tossed tomorrow.
I will be there until the end. Just hope Surrey and Yorkshire play well to ease things if we get into a hole. I really don't think we will lose, it's just a case of us doing enough and by the 2nd day we will have a rough idea about which way the game could go.
I just hope we start well, relatively so with it being a 4day game anyway, and settle the nerves.

Somerset side looks a bit heavy on the batting, especially with Overton coming in at 8. Gregory can bat also.
Looking at that Surrey lineup, if they click they could easily get at least a draw from Notts.
I'd be impressed if they drew with Notts and Somerset, fair play.
