Kent and Lancashire both declined to use their Hundred players when they became available for last year's final. I think?

I think anyone who hasn't played in the groups shouldn't play the knockouts.

Feel sorry for Barnard, he's played an epic knock there.

Bedingham has played a superb knock, 'a Sam Hain'. Very difficult to defend the short boundary at the end then.

George Maddy with 80* to get the U18's up to 244/8 away at Durham in the Semi Final. Didn't look like we'd get that many at one point.

Same as Friday.

Is this a fresh pitch? I think I read it was. If so it's very 2 paced...

Bowling first. Alex Davies is in for Kai Smith.

Alex Davies could be back...

10 over a side smash with an extremely short boundary one side.

Now sun shining! If we do play, the boundary Pershore Road side will be one of the shortest ever I reckon.

Now rodding it down.

Still a bit of it in the air here, so frustrating.

York is a decent one. The bar area and pavilion have good facilities. York obviously a really nice place to visit too.

Might get 10 overs a side madness in this afternoon.

Rain?

Nice post, good info. Seem to be doing well in the white ball stuff after some heavy defeats in the red ball. Oliver Dandy has been in the runs I notice.

As a Birmingham based member (who apparently doesn't understand the county concept) I'm very open to the idea of a fixture being played at an outground as long as the viewing is good (this is an absolute must), the seating is comfortable, public transport links to the area are workable and there be access to good toilet facilities (I want to be able to wash my hands properly and not stand in piss). I can look past poor catering/bar facilities personally, though I appreciate many others won't.

There is loads of Birmingham based members who are very much in favour of a fixture being played at an outground, there really is. It's gotta be good though. When we played at Rugby School in 2013 I went, I was very open minded. I never went in 2014 though because I came away a bit unimpressed by the previous years experience.

I'd try another one again though willingly.

There might, of course, be a few supporters and potential supporters for whom Welbeck is more convenient than Trent Bridge.

Yes no doubt we would get the same moans from Birmingham based members who don't understand the County concept. I remember this happening when the subject has been raised at agms.

It is incredible really we don't play any games in Coventry or Nuneaton given the history and the populations. The grounds are more than capable of holding matches.

I'm glad somebody raised the removal country membership. There has been steady erosion of acting like a county cricket club. Warwickshire Cricket board the last hope but even that seems to be undermined to an extent these days.

Actually a bit offended by that as a "Birmingham based member"...

The umpiring in county cricket has been shambolic the past couple of seasons.

Could have been a tricky little chase today, we did well. That pitch was really gripping and turning. We did well to restrict Derbyshire to 247, looked as though they might get a few more at one point and they have some batters in form. OHD continues to excel, HBrookes showed some nice variations. Taz Ali was incredible I thought when you consider how inexperienced. Rhodes top scorer, looked confident but how good was Jacob Bethell's innings?! Timed everything, what a prospect. This is why I'm not keen to see us recruiting from outside, we have a good crop of youngsters coming through here, we should continue to back them and provide pathways into the 1st XI.

5 wins from 5 when you consider the players we have unavailable due to the Blundread and injuries is remarkable.

Taz Ali has been a consistent performer in the age group sides for quite a while now as far as I can tell. Has regularly played above his age too.

I can only recall Rikki Clarke dropping one once, Hasseeb Hameed off the bowling off Keith Barker in 2016. Ostler tremendous slip fielder and also incredible boundary fielder.

Yates dropped one away at Trent Bridge on Day 4 this season, Slater I think. He also dropped one v Kent (Denly?) last season. Both would have been blinders to be fair. Yates an amazing slipper, don't think he's in R Clarke's league though. Clarke was truly exceptional.
