The crowd was really poor. It didn't feel like an occasion at all. The club barely make an effort these days. All we get are the same two jingles being played, barely audible music clips and a few t-shirts chucked into the crowd.
I bet they go all out on the entertainment when the 16.4 roadshow pulls into town.
With our ageing bowling attack it would be remiss of the Bears not to be interested in some of those players.
Apparently Surrey aren't interested. There's not many first division counties looking for a front line spinner but I'm open to him joining and developing with us. Jeetan Patel is his mentor and will probably recommend a move to Edgbaston.
Good figures from Slim Sylvester so he has something, we should get him fitter and bring him back for the One Day Cup campaign.
It seems T20 isn't Bamber's game so we should go with OHD or Simmons. Garton needs to step up next go, he is a senior player we have invested good money on.
I'm excited by Kai Smith. He's got that X Factor about him. We are lucky to have a talented young keeper. Only a few years ago we were struggling to find a good wicketkeeper batsman.

Surprised OHD isn't playing. Looks like they are trying to instill some confidence in Yates and Garton. Good sign Mousley is in so presumably he has been released from Lions duty.
Simmons with a wicket first ball. Did their batsman for pace. He didn't want to walk, almost showed dissent claiming it came off the helmet.
Makes a mockery of the decision to sign Slim Sylvester when we have a fit and genuine quick bowler on the books waiting for an opportunity.

Agreed. The dithering over Robinson's dismissal has dealt Westwood a bad hand. No one seems to have defined roles and the captain is floundering.
The last minute signing of Slim Sylvester when we have Simmons and OHD on the staff is baffling. Then we have Garton playing effectively has a batsman because they don't have any faith in him to bowl. He is a number 9 not an all rounder.
The fielding is sloppy. The body language is poor. I could go on.
The management need to regroup this week and come up with a a formula. We've been here before and found a way. Mouseley can make a big difference to the balance of the team but we require a number three batsman, either Yates or Latham to give us a platform.

OHD can do a job in this format. Dicky Gleeson and Hassan Ali can't arrive soon enough.
Garton is an unfortunate legacy of Robinson. He will be on a fantastic salary and rarely delivers in the dozen or so games he turns out for every season. Get rid.
That is a massive relief. It got to a point when I couldn't listen when he was commentating and had to turn it off. Richard Wilford and Mike Taylor are far superior.
We need to put a big total on the board given that Trent Bridge is the best batting surface in the country these days. Why Miles over Bamber? He will be smashed all over Nottingham.
No mention of Moeen Ali. Is he available? Does he even want to play?

As I've said before, we won't see much of him playing for the Bears for the next 10 years. He is employed by England now.

I hope Miles is only there as cover as he shouldn't be anywhere near our first eleven. I'd prefer the new bloke Sylvester if we needed an extra bowler.
