I’m not sure about the conditions not being challenging. The cloud hardly lifted all day, Yorkshire were aggressive throughout and there was a particular spell from Hall and Revis with the new ball which had Hain on his back as well as the pair of them bobbing and weaving like boxers for about 15 minutes. Yorkshire were up for this but perhaps made the mistake of starting the day believing - as their crowd did - that the result was in no doubt.

The Yorkshire players were welcomed onto the pitch this morning as a team that had already won. Odd really. However, this was one of the best day’s cricket I’ve witnessed for quite a while....maybe since last September!!

I watched open mouthed as Davies smashed Thompson for 8 in the first over, only to see him caught at mid on a few balls later. Pathetic really. However, I thought Rob Y batted responsibly before falling to a slower ball.

I think the CC break has come at the right time for Davies, otherwise he’d be dropped.

I can’t make up my mind about McAndrew - quick and aggressive, but oh so expensive. Still, I suppose this is what the coaching staff get paid to put right. However, I always thought the overseas player was brought in to be the experienced leader?

I understand what you say about the toss, however, the forecast was for the cloud to lift, which it did.... but not until the 4 wickets had fallen. This morning was very chilly and the ball was flying all over the place, the afternoon was T-shirt and shorts weather under blue skies.

The overhead conditions will still have a big say in this game.

An club email newsletter was sent out several weeks ago. Essex, Lancs and someone else!

At the AGM in 2019....or was it 2020......they stated that the club would eventually have more car parking space than there was at the time.

👍

How long was it?

He’s such a lovely bloke. Deserves much better luck than this.

The email has landed 👍👍

Thanks for that Coop. I’ve now come across several people who tell me the same story.

However, I’ve still not had the email!! I’ve sent emails and ventured to the ticket office at various intervals during the game yesterday and was given all sorts of excuses - one was that they didn’t have my email address, wish is simply tosh!

I’m not a happy bunny!

Where have you seen this, Coop?

Looking forward to seeing the responses.

I’m hoping that the ticket office manager is new and he just assumed that the T20 wasn’t included. Surely any changes to the conditions of sale should have been mentioned in the original email which stated that the passes were available.

It seems odd to me that this change has never been mentioned in any previous communication.

I remember at the 2020 AGM it was stated that the club would not lose parking space due to the new build. It was in fact suggested that extra space could be available due to underground car parking being available for the new apartments.

PS Have you noticed that the Birmingham Bears T20 badge is on the car park pass!

Really? I simply got a pass in an envelope - no letter. This must be an error. The club have surely broken some fair trade regulations by not stating the change in conditions when the passes were sold?

The pass does include T20 matches.

Whisper it, but this lad looks a bit special. Very quick and aggressive. Super fielder.

Just thinking.....this has been a great Ashes series for Dom hasn’t it 😎.

Isn’t the ballot the 3rd or 4th category of access? This is after the various categories of membership, previous purchase history, ECB 12th man members etc. I’m surprised any are remaining by the time it reaches general sale through a ballot.

Really not very happy about this for all the reasons being stated on social media. This looks very much like a self inflicted wound. However, I wonder if any suggestions about future match allocations were mentioned by ECB?

Is it really all about TV contracts etc being fulfilled at the expense and convenience of match attending fans.

I understand why Old Trafford isn’t available for the suggested dates, but can anyone explain to me why Edgbaston had to be the new host venue involved? Will we be afforded refunds for the 100 over ODI that has now become a 40 over slogathon?.

We must now only play on Friday. I was very down after the Hampshire game and the way England played so weakly v India but in the space of a few weeks the season had a strong finish. I hope all our players have a really good winter for lifting me/us up and that day last week was a fantastic occasion only tainted slightly by so few people in the ground.

Hi Paul. I sent you a direct message last week. Did you receive it?

I wonder if now is the time to ditch the T20 Birmingham nomenclature and return to Warwickshire Bears? I must admit, the ‘Birmingham’ title has never overly concerned me, but with the launch of the Butterkist Birmingham Phoenix, now may be a good time to avert any confusion.

After Friday’s wonderful conclusion I noticed on several social media accounts, supporters (who I assume are 100 followers) seemed to be linking/confusing the county cricket club and the franchise team who played at Edgbaston.
