Rumoured to be on his way to us. He’s 36!

26th October

Maybe they’re personal reasons regarding Burgess and Lamb.

I’m sure I read somewhere that Moheen had been offered a pay as you play deal for CC cricket.

Committee having strong links with the membership is debatable

Farby obviously too candid with his views last time

Excellent! Strong links? As has been said before, the only member I’m aware of is Marina who also has a regular input and high profile at Edgbaston Cricket Society Meetings. The comment about Farby also rings true. Not too sure about the bloke who goes to occasional T20 and 16.4 matches. Ha ha.

He was poor today behind the stumps, looked lazy, there was a couple where he didn't even put a dive in. Like has been said, even the commentator picked up on it.

I’m no fan of Davies but I thought he was one of the few positives today. Lively throughout, offering advice, geeing people up. In the intervals he was really keen and proactive when the players warmed up. I really don’t know where you get lazy from

I agree with all that, mad. The members committee is an interesting one. The only member of the committee I’d ever seen before was Marina - she’s at games, has a role in the Cricket Society and seems to be an all round ‘good egg’. Who were the others? Never heard of them, never seen them. Any clues from anyone?

Anyone else notice Ashley Giles’ car in the main car Park at Edgbaston? It’s been there Monday, Tuesday and today. Mmmm.

I’ve just seen a clip of Matt Mason ‘coaching’ experienced Indian international Yadav!!!! It does make me laugh. I’m trying not to be negative....and I know it’s only cricket.....but what on earth has been going on at Edgaston in the last 12 months?

Norwell and Miles are injured

Not surprised.

I just hope that the outcome is that the counties will run the ECB rather than the other way around. Maybe I’m naive, but I think the powers that be are a little surprised at the depth of feeling. If Richard Thomson can’t stop the juggernaut initiated by Graves, Harrison and Strauss, I don’t know who can.

I’ve got 15 signatures at the game today.

So what are you going to do Bosworth Bear? Have you printed the letter produced by Lancs Action Group? Are you going to ask members to sign today?

I’m pleased he isn’t, but how is Michael Burgess not in the 16.4 tournament when players with less experience, less skill and less ‘end result’ are? Absolutely baffling....which in a way sums up the 16.4!

Did anyone here go to the game? What was the atmosphere like? how were the facilities?

Should we continue with these games? Ideally they would all be played at the NCCA counties ground as part of an efford to spread the game around the country.

Yes, I went. It was a good day. Cheshire did very well to get the game on at 12.15. Good wicket, flat outfield, decent crowd. Not sure what you mean by facilities - there were lots of toilets!, food and drink were available and the car park was adjacent to the pavilion. They also produced a match programme which incorporated a scorecard.

Should these games continue? Yes, they should and they should then progress to become part of the knockout stage of the 50 over competition.

Anybody else signed this?

Yes

Well.....thanks for all the replies. I think Marner became the groundsman at OT in later years.

Warwickshire beat Lancashire at OT in the 1964 semi final. Due to their behaviour, 2 Lancashire players were released from their contracts. Also, according to Wisden, both sides were barracked as they left the field.

Anyone know what happened?

....and then he’s joining Notts!
