It sounds like his contract this time around has some clauses in it related to availability, so if he gets injured again it shouldn’t cost the club.
I think it’s a good signing if he’s available, I don’t think it’s fair to say he’s on the slide.

According to Cricinfo::
"Warwickshire's head coach, Mark Robinson, said they had been in contact with the PCB about securing the player, who is no longer centrally contracted, for an unbroken spell.
Robinson said: "His call-up last May came out of the blue and took Hasan away from our County Championship start. We've had reassurances this year from the PCB that Hasan will be able to focus on the Bears which is great news."
Our seam bowling needs all the help it can get.
More power to his elbow (the dodgy one, hopefully cured).
Robinson is back among the quotes so I guess we are stuck with him for another season of mediocrity.
I really like Hassan and he is a great addition to the squad.

Yep, unfortunately looks like it. I'm just hoping a new DoC will SOON be appointed (Troughton, all being well - though he likes being at Surrey - strange preferring an Assistant job!) and he will ring some changes, including new Coaches (not just MR).
"You can take the boy out of Atherstone, but you can never take Atherstone out of the boy !"
"The Bears and the (footballing) Foxes for ever !"
Have to say a bit meh about the appointment, and also a bit meh about Robinson now being the mouthpiece for it. I'd have thought that a genuine fast, or big bounce, or left arm bowler is what we needed. However, if someone can prove with data that winning matches in the extremes of the summer needs right arm medium fast to fast medium then I'm happy to defer...
Setting aside last season's abbreviated effort, he has taken wickets at just over 20 apiece for Lancashire and Warwickshire in 2022 and 2023. If he can play a full season and continue to take wickets with that average, it should certainly contribute to some positive results. But he does have to prove his fitness and get back to where he was a couple of years ago. The fact that, whilst not an all-rounder, he can bat a bit helps to reduce the length of the tail.
Time will tell!

That would be great if it came from anyone other than the PCB! Change their mind more than a weather vane!
I thought Hassan had signed for this season as he's no longer centrally contracted to Pakistan? If so, where is he today?
He is not available until 29 May and then only if he has recovered from his elbow injury.
The phrase by Oscar wilde comes to mind
"To lose one overseas player is undfortunate, to lose two is incompetent"
You have to wonder who decided to sign him? the costs involved and what due diligence, if any, was carried out.
He is hardly ever available to play and is giving a very poor return on the funds invested.
Didn't he pull out last season through injury? If so, our overseas recruitment is so poor. We always seem to start a season under strength. I understand Rushworth is out with a calf injury? I think he missed most of last season with a similar injury, particularly at the start of the season.
So Hasan Ali's availability for us has been reduced by him being centrally contracted by the PCB (again)
To paraphrase Highveld paraphrasing Oscar Wilde "To lose a player to Central Contracting once is unfortunate, to lose him twice smacks of incompetence"
I know the PCB is a bit chaotic but we just seem to fall for the same reassurances which then turn out not to be solid time after time......
Hasan Ali will barely play for the Bears again this season. The PCB have 'surprisingly' awarded him a central contract. Beau Webster has been selected for Australia in ODI & Test cricket and will now miss a large chunk of the season with the Bears. He departs after the upcoming Worcester County Championship game starting on Friday. So this leaves us with a depleted squad. It's not worth offering Hasan Ali another contract only to be messed around by the PCB. It's Very difficult to attract overseas players with so much International and Franchise cricket these days.
What a mess..the club is to blame however as there was always a strong chance this could happen.
Goodbye Hasan, it was good while it lasted but the controllers of Pakistan cricket have no idea what they are doing and never have. Any board who choose over 30 different opening partnerships in less than 18 months, which they did a few years ago, has no right to even organise a bunfight so we can safely say that Hasan will be a waste of time in the future, also. I did wonder if he was a good signing for another season and we now have our answer. So here we are in the same mire as usual. Test players are all well and good as long as there are no Test/ODI series going on at the same time as a UK cricket season. Years ago, there were virtually no international games being played anywhere else but the UK, so when you had your overseas player, he was here until September.
Is in the XI to face Bangladesh right now.
