We've made him a 'sizeable' offer apparently...

28, in his prime. Very good T20 bowler, not seen much of him in 4 day but his stats are decent.
If he’s committed to playing all formats, it would be a really good signing.

Bit hard to see why. For the cc how does he get in the team ahead of Ed Barnard?(Ethan Brookes disease is the correct medical term). His most eye catching stat is a plus 150 T20 strike rate batting down the order which seems to be valued highly by coaches. I've seen quite a bit of him and he is quite an appealing, pugnacious cricketer. Perhaps a more switched replacement for George Garton?

Think he's a better bowler than Barnard but Barnard a better batter.

he gets wickets but AFAIK his economy rate is pretty expensive

agreed that his lofty batting SR is likely a big part of why he is considered a sexy cricketer over-above someone like Barnard

I think it's a decent signing, he's a touch quicker than a fair few of our seamers and he'll be a good no.8. He'll be part of the Blast side too.

I really like him, I bet the natives of Headingley won’t be “chuffed”….

He is a good cricketer and a good addition to the squad. I reckon this is our first signing based on data from James Thomas's laptop. I expect there will be more.

Posters on the White Rose Forum are not happy. One of them claims that Thompson's offer of a new Yorkshire contract would have involved a pay cut.

I was wondering whether he had a "p" in his name and was reminded of Tintin where Thompson came with a p "as in psychology" whereas Thomson came without a p "as in Venezuela". This guy follows the psychology route.
