Third game in the group stages, and the second of three at Rugby School.

Despite the abysmal form from some of our team, there are unlikely to be any changes, unless Sam Hain is released from the unwanted competition.

Bamber & Sylvester in for Lintott & OHD.
Davies still at 4. Hamza and Malik are on 'probation' - IF (big if) we've got any backups, both have got to score today.

We won the toss and chose to bat.

Can't see that we have any batting back ups so have to stick with those picked.

Hopefully Sylvester has improved since the T20!!

Lintott has been opening the batting for the 2nds, so he could get straight back in. Also, there are a couple of decent young batsmen, who have been in form this season for the 2nds.

As for Sylvester, he was one of the key men who helped bowl us to the 2nd's Trophy, so he deserves another chance for the 1st team and this call up.

I knew Sheikh, Malik and Yates weren't in the runs - but I didn't realise they only had one run between them in the competition before today.

As the two posters above me seem to suggest though, there's no back up so they have to stay. It's also the right thing to do: both are picked for a reason, have shown potential and we need to give them the chance to feel a bit more comfortable in the role and then hopefully get some runs.

there's a Jaydn Denly playing for Kent- is Joe Denly old enough to have a lad in the Kent team? I guess he probably is?

It's his nephew I think...

Gekis & Nahal have got centuries for the 2nds recently, averaging 40+ and Lintott, now opening, is averaging 67, with a 122 top score.
In the 2nds T20 competition, Sylvester took 18 wickets (playing in all 9 matches) at an average of 10.83 and an economy rate of 7.22.

I think we may regret not playing a second spinner.

More importantly, I loved OHD on comms.

I think Davies should have shown more restraint until the 40 over mark.

At least we have mixed things up today with our collapse.

One spinner on the same pitch that we took 7 wickets with spin just the other day.

Hopefully we post a good score & Yates can back up Taz Ali

Definitely a pitch to take the pace off the ball. Presume Yates is on for a full stint!

Lintott's economy rate justifies his omission.

Is it enough, hope Sylvester can find his radar as early wickets are needed.

Well, I know it sounded obvious at the time but early wickets are welcome and 3 of 'em, yessssssssssssss!
