But not anymore!!!
But not anymore!!!
Not sure what sharp practices are going on at The Oval, but Lawrence has 'Dissected' the field by all accounts from what one of the commentators said. Really don't think cricketers should be taking scalpels onto the field.

That's a candidate for what used to be Colemanballs in Private Eye.
Luckily the 2 fielders in question didn't appear to be clutching their stomachs in pain as they came off and no sign of bleeding either.
Davies drops Lawrence on 5. Well Bamber's reaction suggested there was maybe a nick.
How did the other players react?
Slips sort of half went up. Bamber and Barnard bowling really well here.
4 down now, deserved.
“Slips sort of half went up” the batsman, as ever, told the truth. The fielders ran forward immediately to celebrate with the bowler, knowing that it was a straight forward catch to the keeper, and that it would be taken comfortably………………….
Yeah perhaps, it was dropped that quick (straight at him, straight in, straight out, a dolly no doubt) it was hard to gauge reaction. I've also only seen it once, anybody watching the live stream?
Just rewound the feed and watched it a few times.
The sort of catch you'd expect a good club level keeper to take 99.99% of the time, so one you'd expect a experienced professional to take 100% of the time.
that could be an expensive error, and raises questions about why Kai Smith was dropped
Cheers. Did he nick it then? In my humble opinion it was a nick, but like I say, I saw it once here at the ground.
Highveld this must be a big moment for you mate?!
HAHA
Just frustrating, it might be a match losing mistake.
Yes it did look like it was a clear inside edge, that went into the gloves, right in front of the keeper, so a comfortable height, and centered on the body. As I said a chance that a good club keeper would take 99.99% of the time.
Oh yeah if not a 'drop' it's a dreadful take.
The body language off all involved said a lot.
I'd suggest rewinding the stream and watching the delivery a few times, the comentators seemed to think it was a drop too.
Overall a pretty good day for us so far.
We’ve applied ourselves really well and bowled as unit magnificently but still a nagging doubt this could have been better if we’d had more attacking fields with a third slip and received the benefit of the numerous lbw appeals.
Commentary so biased and awful. Yuk yuk yuk

I appreciate the feedback, cheers, like I say I felt it was out. I think we've bowled well. Feel like there's enough in this pitch that if you bowl in the right areas consistently you will get your rewards. Can't get too full.

Norcross and Collins - just awful!
At one stage Norcross was saying such a shame Surrey lost the toss as restricts their opportunity to bowl out Warwickshire twice. Then he said it was good Surrey were being bowled out as allowed them to bowl lots of overs on first day.
Collins is just a buffoon!
Feels like we're going down a well trodden path here, against Surrey in the past and other teams this season. Expose the tail with the opposition on a low score, only to let them off the hook and lose a potentially match winning position.
