Keith Barker has a knee injury, is was announced a few days ago.

So the most interesting thing on that scorecard isn't so much our team (which we pretty much already knew) but the Glammy scorer AK Hignell. COuld that be Alistair Hignell the dual rugby and cricket pro? I think he had motor neurone disease, great if it is still him that he is still doing something.

No it isn't and no he hasn't.

A certain Andrew Hignell, Alastair has Multiple Sclerosis rather than Motor Neurone.

Great to have the kids in as well. Would be nice for them if they could see another couple of wickets before lunch.

I am a little surprised that Davies has kept his place and Kai has been omitted once again. Looking at the averages I would have thought Davies would have benefitted from a game or two in the 2nds. However I hope I am proved wrong.

A poor day even though you have to give credit to Kellaway and Carson. Again we failed to bowl a side out when after the new ball was taken, it looked as though we would. Lots of moans where I was sitting about Gilchrist's bowling but we did feed them a few 'Pies' at times.

Funny - I'd say today was the best I've seen Gilchrist bowl once he'd got that first over out of his system. Generally I'd say a competitive day's cricket played at a good standard, Glamorgan have the advantage but we're not out of it. Impresed with Kellaway & Carlson.

One of them days when yer getting frostbite and sunburn, crazy cold at times even though the sun shone most of the day.

An absorbing days cricket and a difficult one to sum up. No doubt about it those first 10 overs which each new ball, it went everywhere. What OHD and Bamber did with the 2nd new ball they should have done with the first - 4 wickets. Thought Kellaway and Carlson rode their luck early on but you need a bit of that with the new ball doing so much. Once that initial shine come off it did look much easier though. Kellaway looked excellent, just very uncomplicated and played very straight, if it was full he drove straight back past the bowler every single time, he didnt miss.

Gilchrist, he beat the bat loads, if Yates holds that chance Carlson offered (on 60 odd) after lunch of his bowling who knows. I thought he was a tad unlucky. One thing thats clear with him though, every spell he bowls he sends down an over which goes for about 12 and just lifts all the pressure. He poses threat, it's just a case of whether he can bowl well enough for long enough to be a heavy enough wicket taker to become a regular in our 4day side. He'd bowl one over where he'd bowl 3 snorters then come back the next and bowl 3 long hops.

Interesting to see how we go when we bat, the overheads were perfect today, seems the clouds are rolling in tomorrow however. The ball went passed the edge loads today, there's a bit in this pitch still. That little partnership between Norton and Crane has probably just put Glamorgan in front.

We've a bit of a longer tail than we're used to with Bamber, OHD and Gilchrist, may well need a tune out of Thompson at 8. Incredibly small boundary Hollies side.
