I watched about a dozen balls towards the end of the innings. Still couldn't really see how the pitch was playing but I did see Garton hit a six, his third, then collapse on the floor, not sure with what but could have been his back. Was moving about a bit awkwardly afterwards. Might just have been cramp I suppose. As others have said, with his first pro century maybe not used to batting for so long. Fair play to both him and Bamber.

Wow, 2 wickets in 2 overs for Jake. I SO want him to prove Management wrong, in not giving him enough 1st team chances (especially in red ball).

Kerrigan implied it was a back problem that is preventing (will prevent?) him from bowling. I hope it can be sorted, even if it only allows limited bowling use, though he certainly seems to be making his mark as a specialist batsman - 2 (very quick) tons in 3 innings.

Similar story to the Northants game, this. Behind the game and just not able to strangle the game enough to create the pressure required to stifle.

Another 30 or 40 would have been a good game.

280 is a competitive total. It’s the bowling that’s letting us down, only one wicket between our top two bowlers after 34 overs between them.

I hadn't noticed that Bamber and OHD had only got one wicket between them, which infers we haven't controlled much in the bowling PP. That Lintott, Taz Ali and Yates are top three in the average with some pretty high averages, tells you not much control in the middle overs as well. Looking at those figures now only makes it clearer that Lintott in for Wylie was a bowling choice and one that was worth sacrificing Wylie's promise with the bat. Re-enforcing the bowling makes the batting weaker, though this was papered over exceptionally by Garton and Bamber in this Notts game. Basically weaknesses all round and one weakness is affecting other disciplines. Having said that, I still think we have seen some good displays in this competition and we might not be that far away. Even if this is now echoing the Blast campaign.

That knock yesterday between Garton and Bamber is a record 7th wicket List A partnership against Notts.
